Leave a bone for Torre

Nicknames: girly-girl; tori-dora, big mama; big scary pitbull; manatee, marshmellow

Quick Bio:
Likes: Megan (her human mommy), stalking the cats, walking, belly rubs, pretending to eat Tanner (her canine brother)

Pet-Peeves: mommy leaving, the pet gate, the end of the walk, attention given to Tanner

Favorite Toy: Tanner's face and anything else that belongs to Tanner

Favorite Food: peanut butter

Favorite Walk: Wildwood Park, any neighborhood with squirrels and rabbits

Arrival Story: We wanted a companion for Tanner, our purebred AmStaff, and decided to find an adult female pitbull through Pitbull Safe Haven Rescue. Those folks referred us to a wonderful lady in New Jersey who runs a private rescue service called Lolli-pop Rescue. Anita handpicked Torre for us and it was love at first sight for both Tanner and me. Torre is a big sweet baby who lives to chase her kitty cousins and roar with feigned ferocity at her annoying little brother. When she sashays down the street, moving that big ole' pitbull bottom side to side, traffic stops.

Bio: Torre is a former Jersey Girl whose original loving owner was unable to keep her. She has always known affection and a happy home.

Emma tortures me, she really does. Every evening she strolls out her back door like the most interesting thing to do in her yard is water the plants. She KNOWS I am sitting just inches away on the other side of the fence, but she ignores me. IGNORES me. I do everything I can to get her attention: my best play bow, a friendly woof, an invitation to race up and down the fence line, but it doesn't do any good. Maybe I should play hard to get? My human mom teases me about being in love, and says I am gender-confused (huh?). All I know is that I can't take my eyes off that beautiful yellow lab. Sooo...last weekend I did it. I jumped the fence. There was a lot of yelling, and my dad followed me right over the fence (only I was a lot more graceful), but I had time to throw myself on top of Emma, and for one, brief shining moment, I was in pitbull heaven. Then dad picked me up and dumped me back in my yard. Emma's mom was pretty mad. I guess it was worth it. I'll never forget those gentle brown eyes or that soft blonde hair. Someday I will find a way to get her to love me.
