Dear Daisy,
Do you have to fight over the blankets while you're in bed with your mommy and daddy?
Sincerely yours,
Rufus da Ruffster
--
Dear Rufus,
I'm usually on top of the covers so there is always enough blanket around me. My momma likes to hog the covers though, so I tend to snuggle near her.
Some nights... you can hear my daddy's teeth chattering cos he's been left blankie-free.

Dear Daisy,
What do you do in the evenings to occupy your time?
Sincerely,
Crazy Callie
--
Dear Callie,
I like to run around in the back yard during "last call" - this involves me galloping around the yard, around the house, or around the carport at high speeds.
I'm a late night eater - so I usually nibble on my food at night. I never eat my food or any treats during the day if my peeps aren't around.
I also like to do the regular doggie things... chew on the rope, gnaw on the nylabone, endlessly harass the peeps into playing fetch with me.
Then it's bed time so I can rest up for another day of the same.

Dear Daisy,
I hate having my nails trimmed!!! What do your peeps do to help make it less traumatic?
Sincerely yours,
Nibbler
--
Dear Nibbler,
I hate having the manicures and pedicures my peeps give me.
As much as I hate having my back paws touched... I hate having my front nails trimmed! I actually do quite well with my back nails being clipped... I think part of it is cos I can't see what they're doing.
But I totally wanna freak out when they do my front paws. My momma tries to cover my eyes so I can't see them terrorizing my nails.
It helps that one of them clips and the other talks to me soothingly in a calm tone. Of course the inordinate amount of praise and treats I get afterwards totally makes it worthwhile.

Dear Daisy,
So what's the deal with the Dogster Plus forums and all the drama going on there?
Sincerely,
Nosey Norm
--
Dear Norm,
Who knows?! But what a waste of a good forum that truly would've been a PLUS for D+ subscribers.
It goes a little something like this:
Doggie drama #1: "Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, think I'll go eat worms"
Doggie drama #2: "I'm leaving Dogster... FOREVER!"
Doggie drama #3: "Someone gave me an anonymous rosette that said I was ___________ (pretty/ugly/funny/smart) and I'm ___________ (sad/angry/confused/hungry)"
In all instances, doggies rush in to give it a stroll, reassure it through follow-up posts, rosettes, bones, and other methods of pandering.
It's a horrible, horrible cycle: Drama --> Appeasement of Drama --> Attracts MORE Drama --> More Cajoling --> Attracts OTHER Drama --> More Coddling --> New Drama (cos the other drama queens don't wanna be left out) --> You get the picture
Please break the cycle.
Please.
It is so not cool.
The forum is being clogged up with posts that really need to be elsewhere. At least I can ignore it in the regular forums since it's neatly separated and contained further down the page.
Don't get me wrong... I love D+ for the rosettes! Definitely the best feature of D+!
But for those of y'all who don't have D+, lemme tell ya, you're not missing much in the D+ Forums. Unless of course, you're a drama queen. You'd love it!
Daisy
P.S. I must add though, in thinking through my vent, that it's really my own fault for getting sucked into the drama that goes on there. I really DON'T have to click on the posts. I really DON'T have to read all 998 messages just so I can keep track of what's going on. It's like a really, really bad train wreck... you just CAN'T look away. ;o)

Dear Daisy,
Who would win in an all-out, knock-down, drag-out catfight between Heather Locklear and Denise Richards?
Sincerely,
Puppy Hilton
--
Dear Puppy,
I'd put my money on Locklear. Heather would definitely kick Denise's ass... I know Denise has got youth on her side, but damn... Heather spent numerous years on Melrose Place, so she knows a thing or two about catfights, lemme tell ya!
Plus she can put David Spade in her back pocket and whip him out like nunchucks to beat Richards' ass down. Foreign object, I know! But we're talking all-out, knock-down, drag-out kinda fight, right? Is this a cage match, by the way?

Dear Daisy,
Eeep! Vacuum cleaners scare me! How do you react to that monster?
Sincerely,
Freaky Frank
--
Dear Freaky Frank,
Yikes yikes yikes! I don't like the vacuum cleaner either. It's weird though, I like to watch it. I'll follow my momma from room to room while the vacuum cleaner's going, but if it comes to close, I make a run for it. But then, after a bit, I'll come back and start watching again. I think I just wanna make sure it's not gonna attack my momma. I'm such a brave and noble hound.

Dear Daisy,
What kinda tricks do you know?
Sincerely,
Ruffy the Rat Dog
--
Dear Ruffy,
Lessee... *puts paw to your nose* WOo! I got your nose! I GOTS your NOSE! Hee! No? Not that kinda trick? Okay then... if you mean doggie tricks, then yes, I know a couple.
I can sit, lay down and come when called. Does fetching a stick count?
I can dance - which involves spinning around in the air while on my hind legs.
I can stay - but only for about 20 seconds cos I have to find the hands that hides the treatses.
I can high five - stand up on my hind legs and touch my paws to your hand.
My newest trick is Bang! - where I turn over to my side with my legs sticking up in the air.
Oh, the things I do for treatses.

Dear Daisy,
Just curious... how come doggies like to roll in smelly stuff?
Sincerely,
Wondering Wally
--
Dear Wally,
I can't speak for all doggies, but I like to roll in the smellies after a bath. I gotsta get my doggie smell back somehow - and this speeds up the process!
Plus I like to advertise what I've found to the other doggies. :o)
