Ashton Kutcher has been confirmed as the new star of TV sitcom "Two And A Half Men".

The actor will replace Charlie Sheen, who was fired from the show in March following a heated and public dispute with show creator Chuck Lorre and producers.

TV bosses at CBS and Warner Bros. Television have been looking for Sheen's replacement on the hit comedy for weeks and reportedly asked British star Hugh Grant to take his place.

News of Kutcher's interest broke on Thursday and he added fuel to the rumours by posting the tweet, "What's the square root of 6.25?" on Thursday night. The answer to the riddle is 2.5.

We just read this from Neil Patrick Harris's twitter.

Mom and dad have many thoughts on this. We are not big Ashton fans, but we'll give it a chance before we judge. We are interested to see how a.) they write out Charlie and b.) how they introduce the new character.

Should be interesting....
