No. 1: Attention! Napoloen has so many loves in his life from rope bones to Greenies to my panties. That boy will chew it all. His favorite game to play is his own unique mix of fetch and tug-of-war that will wear you out quicker than your 9 to 5.

Pet-Peeves:
Napoleon doesn't deal well with cats. He likes to square up on them, give 'em a piece of his mind and then cower off when they make a move. He also hates the winter coat I put him in, but he looks so awesome in sherpa and suede.

Favorite Toy:
My house is overrun with toys. I stub my toe constantly. I don't think Napoleon could pick a favorite. He is quite fond of anything stuffed and anything he can fetch.

Favorite Food:
Greenies, bacon and beef jerkey. He seems to think grass and his own poop are quite the delicacies as well.

Favorite Walk:
He likes to hang out around the neighborhood blocks because they are full of kids that are constantly loving on him. He also loves the park because there is so much to stop and sniff and lots and lots of space for the Zoomies!

Best Tricks:
Napoleon can jump higher then you'd ever expect from something his size. He can almost get up over 5 feet. His agility is quite fun to watch too. Some of the tight corners and curves he takes when he's got the zoomies are amazing.

Arrival Story:
Napoleon stole my heart the minute I met him. I had been reviewing tons of information on different breeds trying to find the perfect match for a while when I decided to grab a friend and head down to the local pet shop to check a few out. There aren't many breeders locally so I really had no other option in getting to see some varieties up close and personal. I swore that I was not going to nor would I ever buy a dog from a pet store, but when I met this little guy I knew I couldn't live without him. My friend and I spent time with a few different breeds, but kept going back to Napoleon. You could see it in his sad little face that he had personality for days and wanted out of there something awful. I decided I had to have a Papillon. We left the store and about 4 miles down the road I started to cry. I couldn't imagine that little guy going back into a cold museum like display case with little human contact. The conditions were yucky and it was killing me to leave him there. So, despite my better judgement I decided I'd spend the money to "rescue" him from the pet store. I hate that I supported such atrosities, but in the long run I'm glad I did. Napoleon was really sick when I brought him home and I found out later that his partner in crime, another Pap in the same cage, had died a few days after I bought him from the same illness. That could have been my boy!

The Ears Didn't Help!

What a ruff week!

I decided to completely freak out my people mom the other day and jump out of her car window while she was driving pretty fast. I figured my ears would help me fly and ease the hit on the pavement, but no such luck. Mommy was so upset she cried and cried and cried, but when the vet gave her the all-good notice she felt a lot better about the 4 inch gash I got in my leg.

All you papillons out there take note: the ears do not make good wings and jumping out of moving cars is overrated. Just let the squirrel go.

My First Entry! How exciting!

I'm not going to waste any time re-introducing myself. You've probably read all about me already if you've made it this far down the page. I'd rather just jump right in and talk about what a cool day it's been so far.

My people Mom, Jenn, woke up early this morning and played with me for a bit before leaving to run some errands. I hate it when she goes and I hate it even more when she locks me up in the kitchen because I know it's going to be a while before she gets back. Sometimes she gives me "run of the house" when she's only going to be out for a short while, but I press my luck with this a lot by chewing stuff I'm not supposed to or dropping a few scented notes around in my favorite spots to remind any visitors whose house this really is. I know I'm not supposed to and I don't do it when she's around, but dogs will be dogs, right?

When Mom finally got back she had some breakfast for her and a treat for me. Man, these new lamb & rice things she got are awesome! I'm not sure if I like them better then Greenies or not, but it's close. Anyway, after breakfast we went outside to see if we could find this puppy that kind of followed her home from her car to the door. We heard him crying while we were finishing up so Mom grabbed him a treat too and we set out to play. Luckily, he was still hanging out on the porch and was eager to sniff around and do puppy stuff with me in the yard. It was cool. I got the zoomies and ran all over the place, Mom played this wierd kind of chicken game we play and the other dude pranced around. He was real cute and probably not much older then a few months so he couldn't keep up with me. I hope to get to play with him more often, but he's going to be a big boy that's for sure. You can tell that by looking at him. Hopefully, if we're cool now, he'll look out for me on the block when he's bigger.

Love and Licks!
Napoleon
