Arrival Story:
My fiancee and I( and my very supportive parents) took him in one cold snowy day. My fiancee, Nathan, who absolutely dislikes dogs (he's a cat person) was out on the porch helping us move into our new house and he was taking a break when this adorable pit bull puppy waltzed right up to him and licked his cheek. That was the moment we adopted our first kid. This skinny little baby was alone and wandering the streets just looking for love and he found the most unlikely individual. We later came to find out that he had belonged to people down the street but since they didn't want him anymore, they just kicked him out the door. Two days later our new bond would be tested when he vomited and we found out that he hadn't been properly vaccinated and he had contracted the almost always deadly parvovirus. I'm happy to report that we held on to him and he fought his was back from the brink and he is a very healthy 60 lbs now. He is around 13-14 months old and a huge bundle of brindle energy.

I looked at momma today and she was sad. I licked her hands and she held my face, the way I love. She always holds my face when she's sad, or needs to tell me something important. This time it was both. She told me that we can't go where grandma and grandpa live anymore because my kind isn't wanted there. I asked her why and who wouldn't want smiling happy loveable dogs there anymore? She told me that I'm part pit bull but this was a thing I knew. I asked her what it had to do with anything, and she said everything. She says that in Youngstown, OH a few bad owners let their pit bulls wreak havoc in neighborhoods over the summer and now Youngstown doesn't want anyone to bring pitbulls into the city. I asked her about my friends, my pit bull friends already living there and she said they can stay but only if their parents have enough money for something called insurance (?), a short leash, and a muzzle (ew!) To this I said what about the dogs whose parents don't have money?? She said they can't be in Youngstown. To this I whimpered because I know what happens when your people say they can't keep you. You are either on your own or taken away to the sad place. I asked my mom if this would happen to us and she said, no baby, not yet. She said her and daddy will do everything possible to keep us together and help the other parents whose pit bulls have been taken away. Humans make me tired but I'm glad there are still good ones in the world who are willing to see my kind the way we were supposed to be seen. I am a good boy, my momma says so.

Bubba: Mom keeps following me around with a camera, i think she wants me to pose for some pictures but posing would require me to sit still for a second. Thats not happening. Its kind of fun though because I'm jus messing with her. I sit still for a couple seconds, long enough for her to focus, and then I bolt. Its a fun game. Oh here she comes again trying to sneak up on me, but i hear her.....woof!! Ha! I turned tail and ran right into her. Well i'm tired of running around all this time, i'm gonna take a quick nap (mom says I snore like dad). Talk to you guys next time!

Mom: Good, he finally layed down. Now maybe I can get some pictures of him sleeping, they are always the cutest.
