I am barking with all my friends in Dawgie Heaven now.
Again I thank God for the extraordinary love from all the staff at Love Pet Hospital this morning as they helped Donald and Ellen my loving earth-parents for 18 1/2 years and my baby brother Zeke help me pass over - - today, Saturday morning 2-4-2006 in Austin, Texas.
I am no longer struggling to smile every day and to even just keep up. It was beginning to be such a chore to get to the food bowl this past week. But you both knew my labored efforts day to day it seems. I hung around the planet far longer than anyone thought! I was waiting until you both might handle my passing better - there never is the right time.......
Great news: I am most pleased to be reunited with my mommie Toodaloo who was Ellen's dawg! You see, I would not have been on the planet except for her loving Ellen! And as the story goes, Donald picked me from her litter 18 1/2 years ago. Donald and Ellen have never just never not had me in their lives together - - the separation is so dreadfully sad. But I was very tired. Life on earth was just too exhausting for me.
Because of my great singing voice, I am a new member of the Pearly Gates Barking Chorale. I used to accompany Donald as he played his guitar and Ellen sang - I liked John Michael Montgomery best! I heard the Chorale has held a place for me for quite awhile now. The music is sweeter here and the colors prettier and just everyone I had as a friend on earth is here! They all are celebrating this eve, and I will be an Angel to Donald and Ellen forever.
I thank you for the fantastic travels everywhere! There is seashore and sand here for me to chase the seagulls too!
I will be just a few steps away from you and watching always - awaiting my next hug and kisses. Watch the clouds - I am there always.
Love forever and ever from your Angel,
Buckshot

Mom finally loaded the 90-day wonder new family member Zeke to Dogster - finally!
Please leave a bone for Zeke aka Ezekiel Caleb of Austin as wella s for me!
We searched coast to coast to find just the right fella for me in my senior years to have as a companion as well as the appropriate heir to this family!
I am moving slowly - coming up on my 18th birthday - - life is more enjoyable thanks to Dr. Carolyn Love giving a few more months on the planet - I really did not need that yukky eye - and I see all I need to see with this one! I have not missed a meal yet!
And I am enjoying teaching Zeke all he needs to know to make it happen around this place - always something to do especially fun dips in the cool running water of Bull Creek!
I took a dip inthe water myself yesterday - scared Mom & Dad for sure but the labs were having such a good time, I thought I'd jump in too! Thankfully Dad rescued me just as my dawggie-paddle was getting a bit strenuous for this old fella - - Zeke thought the event wildly hysterical! and so did the labs when Dad had to strong arm me out of the current. I was fine - just wanted a cool dip kind of a spa treatment for the senior citizen set.
Leave Zeke a bone! Leave Gretchen a bone!
And leave me a bone too! Please corral me- I am still on the planet! Woof!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We're enjoying the windy weather this day before Thanksgiving 2004 here in Austin, Texas - gorgeous blue sky today!
Please know that I cherish each of you in my life. Thank you for the memories! I want to thank all the guys and gals that I have known from everywhere! You have made my life so full and exciting.
It's been an amazing 17 years here on this planet.
We've lived everywhere! We've had fun everywhere!
I'm just home from a stay in the hospital. I am totally devoted forever to Dr. Carolyn Love and Dr. Geoff Wisbrock at Love Pet Hospital, Austin, TX.
They love me! And I love them and every one of the staffers! What great companions for me - such extraordinary care and kindnesses. There are not enough superlatives for me to describe their compassion.
Carolyn and Geoff are my personal Angels.
So long for now - Dad and Mom are taking me out to sit in the sun for a bit.
Love forever to my Angels, to Dad, to Mom and to all my friends.

Welcome to the Diary of Buckshot the Go To Dawg!
Today it is nice and cool - I like that big time! Been too hot here in Austin - not the Pacific shore or NYC for sure. Whew! I'm feeling frisky even though I have just turned 17 years young. I still have some spring in my step when the weather is cool for sure! I miss running in the sand - on any coastline. I do enjoy stomping in all the puddles from the sprinklers keeping the lawn nice and cool for me to pad around. My Mom and Dad love to walk me around meeting Texas dogs here. I am 17 now, but as the vet says: I am still on the planet! And Mom and Dad give me treats every day! Leave me a bone every time u visit me please! And corral me, so I can meet you online, k? Have a great day! We're going for another walk so I can sniff every blade of grass before I select exactly the right ones to leave p-mail on - LOL! Love always, Buckshot the Go To Dawg
