On the treadmill that is - - I was a bit shy of it for some time now. But, when I saw how much fun AB was having with mom, I just had to give it a go! I just have to wait until AB is tired. She really doesn't like to give up her spot on the treadmill.
I tried to get on with mom and AB, but mom said that was too dangerous. So, I sit and wait my turn.
I think mom is getting tired though. Instead of her 40 minutes on the tread, she now walks and runs for 90 minutes. It would take more than that to tucker me out!

Since I can't get mom to update my site, I figured I'd do it myself! As you can see, I finally added the rest of the family. Nestle is the baby of the bunch and AB well, use you imagination!! She's been dubbed A**Biter but to me she is definitely the ALPHA B****!! Nestle and I get along most of the time (I have a bit of the little green monster in me) but AB, well she will not let us play together at all. She takes all the toys, bones and chewies. One time when mom let us have an extra chew stick, AB confiscated them all and plopped down on them so no one else could get one. Talk about selfish! Mom has been working on this problem with her - - but right now it's no better. So, when Nestle (Skeeterbutt) and I have treats we head in opposite directions so AB has no idea which way to go!!
The neighborhood has dubbed mom the shepard. We love the long walks but what a sight to see mom walking the three of us together! AB being the largest of us does all the pulling and all she wants to do is walk. What about taking a potty break! Do you have any idea what it's like to be pulled of the phone pole in mid stream!!!! And I know Nestle feels the same way.
We're pretty lucky right now cuz' mom doesn't have to go to work. We get to go out back anytime we want, and go walking twice a day. I love it when we take different routes and get to go to the beach. I love the water; AB hates the water and Skeeter, well, he's still deciding.
Mom siad our friend from MA is coming to visit this weekend, but she is not bringing my best friend, Lilly, with her. I miss Lilly and the pond in MA. But, next year mom said we can all go to MA to visit Lilly. In the meantime, I will be working on AB and her attitude. Bye for now! Can't wait to see mom's reaction when she reads this!

Don't tell - - I snuck out this evening to tell everyone how things are going here. Well, I miss mom and the family, but, I have AB to keep me company. It's been fun, but I want to go home. AB has had a tough time with this. She thinks we are not going home. I keep whispering "everything is going to be alright, I promise." AB has stayed close to me and we snuggle together at night. She still does not get it - - playing, I mean. I know that when she growls playing tug o' war, it's her play growl. The other dogs don't get it. So, she stays in a corner all by herself most of the time. I do get play time in, but I stick close to AB to make her feel better.
Dad is supposed to be here in the morning! Can't wait!! Mom is coming home on Wednesday, FOR GOOD!
Uh - OH gott'a run, I hear the kennel police!!!!
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME, THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

Moving to Virginia was such an adventure. It took twelve hours! Mom stopped often so I could smell the roses!
I now have a full family - - Mom and Dad, THE KID (she's 5) and aunts and uncles! So much love and so many hugs and kisses! Loving it.
On the flip side, there is AB (Alien Baby). She personifies the word _itch! Guess that comes from being the only doggie baby in the family here. She doesn't like to share anything and is always trying to steal my treats. Very, very ALPHA FEMALE! She is bigger than me and growls like a Rottie. It's going to take some time for me to win this one over.
Mom took us to doggie day care one day and I had a blast! A great dane thinks I am her puppy and keeps trying to carry me around! I felt bad for AB. She just went to a corner and curled up. So, I went to lay down with her and she snuggled me in. I am starting to win her over!
The end of June we will be spending 5 days at doggie day care while the humans go back to Massachusetts for mom's retirement. I am thinking I will need to take care of AB and show her the ropes.
I am adjusting to having a fenced in backyard. I roamed free in the woods in MA. There are too many flower beds here and I had no place to dig. So, mom turned over dirt in one corner of the yard, buried bones and now I have my own digging grounds. This is great because AB is too uppity to dig. So, it's all mine!
I had to give AB a WHAT FOR when it came to sleeping arrangements. We both sleep with mom and dad. She wanted the whole bed to herself! NO WAY. So now, AB sleeps under the covers at the bottom of the bed and I get under the covers on mom's pillow - - my favorite place! I think dad is jealous. When he gets up for work in the morning, mom and I are sound a sleep in a snuggle hug! HEHE!!!
When mom gets back in July, we are going to look for Agility Training. I miss all my doggie friends from school. BUT, I am looking forward to making new friends. LATER!

I did it! I did it! Yiippppeeee!! I graduated Pre-agility on 14 April!!! I want more, give me more! I will be leaving for Virginia next month, so mom said it will be awhile before I can begin Agaility again. BUT, she promised I will.
By the end of May, Virginia will be my new home. That means, move over AB, Kingster is on the way! Mom is going to retire from the Navy and we are going to the boat to cruise the Chesapeake Bay. BTW, what is a boat??? Anyway, I will have a big fenced backyard to chase AB around and around. Hope they all don't mind the digging! I have become quite agile at catching gophers, chipmunks and frogs in the woods next door. I will miss those long walks on the Cape Cod Canal and running with the cadets at the Academy, but mom said the beach is just a five minute walk from the house and we will be spending lots of time there. So, look out Virginia - Kingston is coming to town.
The daughter was here with the kid for a week and we had a blast! Alyssa was feeding the ducks in the pond and I was trying to catch them. They won! The ducks did get to eat, and I did not catch a one of them. Tthe swans were a bit too big and nasty for me to try and catch. It's fun swimming in the pond. Alyssa really kept me busy last week and I am looking forward to the peace and quiet before leaving for VA.

Wish I could do agility every day! I am the King of my class. Mr. Harry(English Lab) mastered the A-frame, but Ive got everything else top down! Mom thought for sure I'd have a big problem with the tire. It's cool! I get to run, jump, fly and weave. I am really wearing her out. I just can't seem to get up that huge A-frame! So, mom is buiding me a ramp to practice. Said it would go on the bottom landing of the stairs so I can practice at home.
Mom lets me practice every day. Oh, and the butt-hip thing she's got going on, she was kinda happy about that this week!

Yippppeeee! Now this is more like it! Obedience was cool, but agility is fun. I am learning to step through the ladder, weave through poles and walk on a small seesaw. Best part ~~ that tidbit of fresh hotdog at the end of the run. I'm learning new words like, step-step-step, weave, weave, weave and board. I'm running my moms butt off!! She tires alot faster than me (hee, hee, snicker, snicker). Can't wait for Friday to see what new trick and words I will learn. Mom keeps telling me about butt and hips but, what the heck is that. I don't have a big butt!!

Okay, so CT is not so bad. I stayed with gran & gramps for two days. They have a really great backyard that is visited by lots of squirrels. Apparently these guys are smarter than the average squirrel - - they would stay high up in the trees and drop acorns on my head. But, the digging was great too. Maggie lives there too. She's a funky little 4 lb yorkie with a big mouth! The bite is not so bad - she's missing a lot of teeth. Anyway, since it is her house, and she is kind of older, I let her have her way with the food and treats. She just follows me everywhere and lets me know when I might be doing something wrong.
I also stayed with Aunt Jen for a night. HARLEY is big; and black; and slobbery for a lab. He and I had a great time playing tug-o-war with his toys. He's nice and friendly and even let me eat out of his bowl! What a nice guy.

NOW, FOR THE REST OF THE STORY
NEW FOREVER HOME
February 15th 2006 4:19 pm [link to this entry]
We had a long trip to Massachuestts - 3 hours in the car. Mom stopped often so I could take care of business. Where the heck is Buzzards Bay? That's where my new home is!!
Once I arrived, I checked out everything. I even had a welcoming party! Lillie is a big yellow lab that lives down stairs and she was waiting to meet me. We had Frosty Paws together and yogurt. This is going to be great! I've even made friends with the kids next door. Sydney comes over almost every day and takes me out to play when mom gets home from work. I love have a tug-o-war with Jordan. He lives next door too. Mom and I are learning loads of new things about each other, especially trust. I have my issues with vehicles and love to dig. I live right next to the woods so I hav plenty of places to dig for critters and the street is too far, so I don't go there unless we are on a walk.
It's been 6 months now and I love my new mom and my new home. I reign - KINGSTON THE KING. I take my mom for a walk on the Cape Cod Canal every day, twice a day; sun, rain or snow - we go. Mom has taken me to school and I graduated Obedience I and Obedience II. In March, I begin Agility (what ever that is) but mom says I will have loads of fun with that.
I have been to Virginia twice since finding my new mom and home. She says the REAL forever home is in Virginia. See, she's in the Military and will retire this summer. But, the Virginia home is right on the Chesapeake Bay and there is lots of beach to explore. I'll even get to go on long cruising trips on a boat and make lots of new friends at the marina.
In the mean time, I will just continue to enjoy the canal and all my friends here and at school.
FOSTER CARE
February 15th 2006 4:06 pm [link to this entry]
My foster home was definitely better than a pound or shelter. My foster dad has 5 other kids. Last August, he said I could ride along to Branford, CT. He was taking Eric for a "look/see" from a prospective new mom. From what I could gather, Eric might be leaving us to go to Massachusetts, somewhere about Cape Cod. All I know is, I'd get to play with about 23 of my brothers and sisters in Branford and I was sure looking forward to it! Eric, being 3 years my junior, would surely find a forever home.
The foster mom in Branford had a huge backyard with rocks to dig around and 23 kids for me to play with. Eric wasn't paying much mind to the lady who came to see him. But, when George (who never goes to anyone) jumped up on her lap, I figured it was safe enough to stroll over and give her one of my cute nubbie wiggles! Next thing I know, she's taking me for a stroll. She talks nice and lets me sniff as we take a short walk. When we got back, she took Eric for a short walk too. He didn't seem at all pleased upon his return, and went right back to digging for critters amoung the rocks.
WOW, I'm going with the lady! She wants me and boy, do I ever want to be with her! I am on my best behavior in the Jeep. We went to a house with a mom and dad and a little, tiny Yorkie named Maggie. This was my first night away from the foster dad and Eric. It's strange, but, the gentleman that I am, I ask to go out back. We spent the night there in New Haven with my new mom's parents. The next day we went to Petsmart and she got me all sorts of new things, including a seatbelt. Then, out of the blue someone is calling me! They know my new mom and somehow they know my name. Turns out a neice, Jessica, wanted so badly to meet me, they tracked me down at Petsmart. Now, I really feel special. Mom says we are going to Massachusetts tomorrow and with the holiday weekend coming up, we will have lots to see and do.
