warm blankets and howling..

last night a rainstorm came thru and cooled things off so that blanket was extra nice and warm and cozy. i tell you i wrapped myself up good and tight in that thing and was snoozing pretty good.. then, Allison and Weiner started barking and eventually erupted into howling.

i TRIED to get out from the blanket and join in but i'd wrapped myself in so tight that i couldnt and they were howling and were gonna be done soon if i didnt join in so... i just did my howling from inside the blanket.

i could hear mom laughing as the blanket bobbed up and down as i threw my head back and barked and howled but at least i didnt have to come out of my warm spot. and as soon as we were done howling, i was right back to snoozing.

it's about tme

finally, now that i've been chosen as one of the Diary of the Day winners, others can begin to appreciate the hard life I lead and can learn from my wisdom and how I view and treat the world.

which just goes to show, if you're snobby enough, others think you're better than them too

now, if I can just get mom to understand that someone who's had their diary chosen over all others just should not be made to associate with the likes of Allison! she's just so common... although, she can be kinda fun.. she likes to get noisy and I must admit that when the urge hits me, she can be made to howl with me very easily.

actually, I really like her but I have to pretend because it would upset the delicate balance and people might think I'm turning soft.

i showed her

i like to bark at Allison.. it's mostly a game.. i dont really hate her, but it's a thing we do.. i am under the covers or in mom's lap and when Allison walks by, i growl at her.. she yelps at me and eventually we howl.

so.. i'm at the supper bowl and i'm kinda picking at the food and Allison walks by.. so, i growl. she IGNORES me and keeps on going.

she walks by again and i GROWL again and she just keeps going as if she didnt hear me!

that is simply not the way we play, so i sohwed her.... i proceeded to lick the top of all the food in the bowl repeatedly. i didnt eat it.. i licked it.. i got my slobber all over all of it so it was mine! i licked and licked until i covered every inch of the food in that bowl.

ignore me... hmpfh.. i think not

holy crap i'm dead tired

between Alex and his nerves during the drive to and from Hayley's and Weiner's crying constantly while we were AT Hayley's and the heat and the new smells... and the NOT HAVING A BLANKET TO CRAWL UNDER.. sheesh.. i didnt get a minute's sleep and i'm cranky. i laid on mom's leg for a while over at Hayley's but every time i'd get comfy, someone would open a door or talk or Weiner would cry.

i even growled at Kathy several times :)

but i'm home and i see my blanket waiting for me on the couch so if you'll excuse me.. i have a date with a nap .. zz .. zz .. zzzzzzzzz

my daddy called me this morning

last nite, those fireworks were going off again so mom put me and Weiner in her bedroom and turned the tv on so we couldnt hear them. she's pretty smart. she set the sleep timer to go off when the fireworks should be done and by that time, we were all asleep... only... i got cold and couldnt sleep so i woke her up several times in the night. she got up at 3:30 and let us go out and man, i bounced and bounced and showed my cutest moves trying to get her to let me into the bed under those warm covers but no.. i bet it's cause of Weiner somehow.

anyway, i was freezing when we got up this morning. mom picked me up and could tell how chilled i was so after a quick jaunt outside, i buried myself in the blankets on the couch to warm up.

and then my daddy called :) he called to speak to ME :) that warmed me up :) last time i saw him, i just couldnt contain myself and i gave him multiple kisses. HE lets me sleep in the warm bed!!

fireworks

they've already begun shooting fireworks...

mom thought she'd stayed up late enough for them to be over, but found out pretty quick she was wrong so she brought me and Weiner's kennel into her room and turned on the tv so we couldnt hear the bangs and we all finally went to sleep.

how degrading

a new family moved in next door.. a single lady and her 10 year old daughter. oh, and some puffball that calls himself a stud named Teddy. whatever.

anyway, Allison and Alex and Weiner were barking at Teddy thru the fence, so the new lady and her kid came over to check everybody out... that's when i sprung into action and started barking too!!

something about mom wanting to make sure nobody yelled at us for barking blah blah blah and next thing i know, she's introducing us to the new neighbors.

whatever, you know me, i just walk away but then this KID picks me up and coos and awwws and holds me and ugh.. how disgusting. she didnt hurt me and she wasnt loud and obnoxious, but still... just picking me up like that when i'm clearly walking away... rude. and as soon as she put me down, i ran to mom and jumped into her hands for her to hold me... high and above the little impish girl.

i certainly hope this does not become a routine

about time

i blinked and blinked and watered my eyes and FINALLY she let me have the rest of what was on her breakfast plate.

of course, then everybody had to jump in there

but that's okay cause then she opened a can of Gourmet food and gave me quite a bit before even sharing with the rest of them

see, this is what i'm talking about.

yet, who gets thrown into the back yard when mom's doing yard work out front?
and who gets to stay inside?? me..

and even better, mom even let me come out FRONT with her for a while. yeah, we were just working and walking around all free and stuff in the front yard.

we saw a little baby mockingbird come flapping and falling out of the bradford pear tree. it was sqawking until it saw me and then it went silent and motionless. but i dont mean no harm to no baby birds... unlike SOME dogs who managed to kill THREE babies who were in the cedar tree in the BACK yard.

so, i just let that baby be. and that's why i get to go out front.
