Saying good-bye is so hard

My best buddy and cuddle monster, Reustie, was sent to puppydog heaven February 24, 2007. It was a very difficult decision to make but he had been battling several health issues. He was diagnosed with inoperable bladder cancer in October 2006. Along with the diagnosis, the vet told us that Reustie has several organs that were failing, including his liver and gall bladder. Two years before the cancer diagnosis, Reustie was diagnosed with lupus and has been on meds for it since then...

Between the three meds for the lupus and the pain medication to keep him comfortable upon receiving the cancer diagnosis, he just was never the same. You could see that his quality of life was slowly deteriorating. The most loving gift I could give him was the gift of peace.

Reustie would have been 11 years old on March 25, 2007. I know that he's in a better place now, playing with his half-sister, Natasha, and his other buddies who have gone to puppydog heaven prior to his arrival.

Daddy love you, pooh bear! I always will.
