Happy Birthday to me!!!

What a great weekend I had last weekend. Well, it started off a little rocky with a small trip to the doggy ER at night (probably something I ate.....I try to sneak lots of things off of the ground every opportunity I get; walks, playing in the backyard, doggie daycare, the counters, you name it). Actually, I love going to any kind of vet or animal hospital because of all the nice people there that give me lots of attention. Sure, they like to poke and prod at me all the time....but I don't mind; there are treats and hugs and kisses and smiles...all for me!
But back to the greatest day ever. So anyways, I was a little tired and pouting on the couch because my mom couldn't give me any breakfast...at least thats what she told me the doctor told her ( I have a hard time with that concept..i mean no food..for me?). But then the doorbell rang and my mom's friend Jessika came over with a new friend for me! A beautiful sheepdog named Diega! And boy could she play with the best of them! We ran in circles and circles around the yard. And since it had rained...the grass was all slippery and we totally destroyed it. SO MUCH FUN!!! But that wasn't even it.
So then we went for a ride in the car...which I love...to go to the dog park....which I love even more.
However, this was no normal trip to the dog park. Waiting for me there was my new Shitzu friend Lola, my older man crush Willie looking fine in his jersey shirt, and my 3 cousins Frank, Amy, and the new baby Maggie!!
Some of them even had little presents of treats for me! Why you ask? Well, I was asking myself the same question. My mom said it was because it was my birthday. Even though I don't know what that means...I sure love birthdays now! We got to all go crazy in the dog park, my mom set up some water where we could bob for tennis balls, and at the end we all go to have pieces of a cake from a dog bakery!! Well, my piece was super small because of my stomach....but it sure was a good piece!
I can't wait till next year!

The Daddy woes

So it's been a little while since I've written an entry in my diary. First let me just say in the time it's been I am now a master of the dog park, about 10 lbs bigger, and of course much smarter. Well, my mom calls it devious..but I like to think of it as survival smarts.
Anyhow my dad has been away for a couple of weeks now for work (my mom says he is coming home soon). And it was ok for a while because I have been kept very busy at home. I even got to spend the weekend at this super fun ranch in the woods while my mom was away for the weekend. I even had a summer fling with this beautiful Great Dane named Titus there!!! While at home I have been busy checking out the neighborhood on walks, of course gracing the dog parks with my presence, and getting lots of treats like Bully sticks to keep me occupied.
But this week I have really started to miss my dad. He is after all, the only one in this family who can even come close to matching my tug of war skills. And let me tell you...they are some mad skills!! My mom tries- bless her heart..but she doesn't have the strength or endurance to keep up with me. Not only that but although I am a bigger girl my dad still can pick me up and hold me way up high. I love it up there...i can survey the whole room. Plus mom thinks I am cute up there so she always comes and gives me lots of love. Anyways, i am really starting to get sad so I have tried some new things to keep my mind of missing my dad.
Some things are simple - like trying to fool my mom into thinking I forgot all my basic commands like sit and come. I have also managed to find and destroy a few of her clean socks. This is pretty funny because sometimes she doesn't notice until she puts them on and there are big holes everywhere hee hee. I also have stolen some cookies off of the counter that she didn't think I could reach because I haven't jumped up there in a while. But it is a renewed passion of mine...especially after those cookies.
I have also tried some new tricks in the yard...such as destroying plants and trying to dig holes so the neighbor's dog could get in to play. This is all in the last week so I have been pretty busy. I just wish my daddy could come back so I could play with him and give him ear kisses. Then I think I will be a good girl again. Well, of course I think I am a good girl right now too....just one that is having a lot of fun at my mommy's expense!!

The Dog Park

So I found my new favorite hobby. They call it the dog park. It's great fun! Basically my people set me free in this big area with lots and lots of other dogs to play with. The first time I made my entrance a couple of the older dogs didn't want my puppy lovin' and got a little nasty....I think they were trying to intimidate me because they know that soon I will be the biggest one there:)....but I am soo cute and so nice that I soon won them over and we all became friends.
Of course, I don't really get why all these dogs like chasing those round ball things around. I could care less...I'm much more into chasing the dogs that chase the balls. It's a good thing I'm smart though.....I'm not the fastest one in the bunch and I can keep up for about 2 seconds. Then I figured out hey! I don't have to keep up...I can just keep taking shortcuts accross the field and cut off the leader of the pack! I love it! I could do if for hours if my people would let me. But I think when I can't put my tongue back in my mouth they think it's time for me to go. I hate leaving! Yesterday my mom tried to put me in the car and I sat right on the ground and pulled backwards on the leash. ....She wasn't very happy. But I wanted to stay with my new friends a little longer! Mean mommy. I was a little tired though. I guess I'll just keep on trying to be good so she'll take me back to this great new place!!!

Busy Day

What a fun day I just had. It didn't start out the best because I had a tummy ache in the morning:( ..but it kept getting better and better. The sun was out and mommy didn't go to work, she took a nap with me in the morning yeah!!! I love naps with mommy) and we lounged around for a while. This usually means the weekend is here!! And I love the weekends:)
Then we went to visit the nice Doctor lady who always gives me lots of treats and lets me give her lots of kisses. She gave mommy something that is supposed to help my tummy aches. I think mommy cares more about my tummy then I do. I'm fine---really! So I'm really starting to like car rides too. Feeling the breeze coming in, soft seats...so much to see outside...plus I know that I am about to embark on exciting adventures!!
And this next adventure sure was fun!!!
We went to this store that had so much great stuff. There was another little doggy there who let me play with his toys..and a really nice lady who gave me a cookie and this cold wet stuff that tasted really really yummy too. They made me smell pretty and I tried on some clothes and collars that I looked very cute in, boy do I look good in purple! It was paradise for a princess like me and I hope that we go back there very soon. I pranced around in my yard when I got home and many of the neighbors stopped to google at me. Maybe next time I'll try a different color......hmmmmm I love good days:)

Graduation Day!

Well, tonight was the night I graduated from puppy Kindergarten at Seattle Dogs! I was a little nervous coming into class because mommy put me in a pink shirt! I mean...what?? I'm okay with wearing clothes around the house because I get a lot of treats for it...but out in public? And with my peers? yikes! They told me it was better then the cone/collar I have been wearing ever since I came out of the Doctors office (which should have been a diary of itself but I was a little sleepy from what they called being "spayed"). Anyways, I was very nervous entering class, but all the dogs were very nice and no one made fun of me! A couple of my good buds from class weren't there tonight so hopefully I will see them again in the next class. Mom and Dad tell me we are going back later. I can't wait...I love to play with all those dogs...and they love to play with me. It must be the pink shirt....maybe mommy does know what she is doing. I better make this short tonight - I am feeling very- sleepy all of a sudden from all that play. But I am a graduate!!!

Valentine's Day

What a crazy day....I'm totally confused. Every day is all about me (as it should be), and today I woke up thinking everything was going to be the same. But first of all - daddy fed me breakfast which made me cock an eyebrow to say the least... but then he fed mommy breakfast in bed too! Well, I think mommy was as surprised as me! Then in the evening, (which is my biggest play time of the whole day ) mom was busy making all kinds of good smells come out of the kitchen. Of course I have an excellent nose but I'm not big enough to see over the counter yet so of course I had to jump up on the counter a few times to see what was making those great smells. But can you believe it mommy put me on a time out! So maybe I got a few warnings...but it was hard to really pay attention to those when I was almost able to see the smells. I was this close! Any reasonable dog would understand. Timeout! Humph. Who does mommy think she is?
Anyways, it was torture not being played with as much as I needed to be. Dad came home and payed more attention to mom then me. Than Me!! The cute one! He even said hi and gave her a kiss first! I suppose they made up for the day a little when then gave me a cute red stuffed animal toy. It was pretty cuddly and fit perfectly in my mouth where I could spend many minutes shaking it about. And I guess they did give me some strawberries for dessert. At least, they called it a strawberry....it took me a while to explore it with my mouth but I decided that I liked them...more then my dog food even! But still, all in all I hope this day only comes once in a great while, after all...it's me who is the star of the show right?
