Arrival Story:
My husband and I were interested in adopting a Bolo puppy. The breeder said he had a four year old in need of a home. When we met her, she hid under a bench, then shivered in our laps for about 45 minutes. We were hooked, even if she was a little more nervous about us.

Our Miss Brooks

Summer vacation is over

Well, not quite. Missy did so well in her clicker class that we're giving her a break from training for the next couple of months.

In the last couple of months, we've started her on Sue Ailsby's training levels program. On the side, we've continued to work with her being able to be in her carrier calmly. We're all the way up to her being in the carrier and remaining relaxed when the door is closed! Very exciting stuff for Missy. :)

Summer Vacation!

Missy came through her Shy Dog class just beautifully. She even had a make-up class with the agility pups and did a fantastic job! We'll definitely be investigating agility in the fall.

Right now, Missy is enjoying her summer vacation in the new place. Living in an apartment building is a new challenge for her - what's with all the noises outside the door? The poor girl is beside herself barking away the beasties, errr... neighbors. It's hard to know how to break her of that.

Summer vacation comes to an end this weekend when Miss begins her first official clicker training class. She's got a few exciting weeks ahead of her.

Missy is doing alright in her Shy Dog group, but I think I will not sign her up for it again. Instead, I might just take her to the drop in small dog playgroup sessions once or twice a month to give her time to hang out.

We moved recently. Missy's habit of barking at noises outside the door is now exacerbated by living in a condo complex. I'm hoping to train her to chill before the grace of the neighbors runs out :)
