Arrival Story:
i was walking past an adopt-a-pet stand and there she was. she has all these little kids petting her. and i wonderted to myself, what is a golden doing up for adoption. they told me, someone droped her off the day before and that they had see her tied to a tree and treated as a rottweiler's toy. she had over 23 cuts and bites all over her body. the 1st hour, i tried to convince people to adopt her, then the 2nd hour i found a couple but they alreay had 8 dogs, and by the 3rd hour, i took her home. and its been the best thing in life.

lucy has the talent to unlock my front door when i am not home. she then opens the hall door in our apartment complex and roams around the halls, she also enjoys riding the elevator byself when im not home. she even opens other peoples doors, that might be unlocked and just enters there house. once, a nice young man found her on his coach when he came home. another time she visited one of my neighbors as they were cooking dinner. i just love her, cause when i get in the elevator, people know her more than they know me...haha..gotta love her. the good thing is that the building loves her, so the people who work here return her home, or they have her wait in the lobby until i come home. lucy died of cancer Dec 31, 2007. after we moved to nyc, she started to get really ill. test after test, it was hard to discover what it could possibly be. unfortunetely it was intestant cancer. she was so strong that she didnt show the signs, and by the time they discovered it, it was to late. i will always miss her, as she was one of the most beautiful dogs i have ever encountered. she was kind, gentle and simply special. RIP Lucy ~ I hope your in a better place & feeling no pain...
