Hello!!!! My name is Nina.....and I would love to tell you my adoption story. My mommy and daddy got me from a rescue called Central Ohio Poms and More Rescue. My mom knew as soon as she saw my picture online that I would be her sweet little angel puppy!!!
The day my mommy and daddy came and got me.... I was so happy!!! They brought with them my own little special bed.... and a toy... my Beloved Lambie. From that day forward, I knew I was in my forever home!!!
My mommy would take me for walks, and she took me for rides in the car all the time. I LOVED to ride in the car with my head hanging out the window and sniffing the air to my hearts content. My mommy and daddy took me everywhere with them....and I never had to stay at home very much by myself. At night time.....if I wasn't tired yet....I would sit on the couch with my daddy all warm and snuggly. Once I got tired....I would run into my bedroom and sleep with mommy right in between her legs. Most of the time... I would go straight to bed with mommy... but sometimes I liked to stay up with my daddy.
I loved my new home.....and I knew how much my mommy and daddy loved me. I had tons of toys... and even warm snuggly outfits that my mommy would put on me if I got too cold. I had my own blankets and everything!! I was the Head Honcho of the House!!! I loved my mommy and daddy....and spending all the time with them that I could.
One day.......I started to get a little bump on my chest. It didn't bother me......and I tried not to let mommy and daddy see it. For a while it stayed very small..... but then suddenly it started to get bigger and bigger. My mommy took me to the vet..... and it turned out... after several visits and tests... it was a mast cell tumor. I had to stay over night to get it removed... and I didn't like being away from mommy and daddy. But I knew they loved me and they were just trying to make me better and keep me happy.
After my surgery......it was back to normal for quite some time. It took me a little bit to heal....and mommy and daddy had to carry me everywhere and help me get up and down, but eventually I was better. It was back to being the ruler of the roost.....and walks and play time. My mommy and daddy thought that I was on the road to recovery, and no more cancer. Within a couple of months...... it was back.
I ended up having to go to the vet a lot for chemotherapy treatments. The bump started to go away.....and we all thought I was in the clear. But it eventually came back. My mommy and daddy were both so sad that nothing was working.... I did my best to make them feel better. I was trying so hard to get better.....being such a good girl at the vet's office and trying not to give mommy a hard time when she had to give me medicine. I loved my family so much and I wanted to get better... but I just could not beat the cancer.
I had 3 happy, loved filled wonderful years with my mommy and daddy. I was so happy to have gotten to love them, and to have them love me back. I am at the Rainbow Bridge now as a Sweet Angel Baby.. and I watch over them to make sure they are okay and know that I still love them very much. I know they love me, and think about me every day. The bought me a very beautiful urn and it is near a window so that it is in the sunshine......I loved to lay in the sunshine. I even have my very own shelf with all of my pictures, and the paw print that the vet's office made for mommy and daddy. I know one day we will all be together again.
Thank you for your time, and letting me tell my story.
Adoption is the greatest gift for both people, and the animals that it touches. If I had to do it all over again, I would in a heart beat. Nina was the sweetest, most wonderful dog I have ever had. I love her dearly and she will always be in my heart. Rest in peace sweet girl!!!
