Best Tricks:
I am very smart, know all the basic comands, and many more that are helpful to Mom.

Arrival Story:
Grandma's dog, Brandy, passed away from cancer. when Grandma returned to pay the vet, he asked her if she wanted a dog. I had been homeless, then I started hanging around some people who had a nice big dog. they couldn't keep me so they took me to the vet. I was really skinny, had sores on my hips, and I was covered in mud. Grandma really wanted me, so home we went. but Grandma lives in an apartment, and is 560 in dog years, I am a high energy dog. so, Grandma's daughter took me to live at her house with a big yard. Xmas 2005, Grandma said Mom could keep me forever. I'm so happy, I used to be nervous. I am my Mom's service dog in training, in return she is teaching me that people are good, loving, and can be trusted not to hurt me. I still visit Grandma lots, but I love having a home with Mom and Dad, and they love me too.

Bio:
the vet and my people are only guessing what breed I am. I have the markings and size of a border collie, short hair, and my irises are part white. Mom thinks I could be part German Shepherd. I think I am part race horse. I'm not just smart, I'm really cute. I get nervous if I can see the bottom of the dog food bag. I paw at Mom or Dad when I have to go potty (or just want to be outside, hehe). did I mention I love to sing, the 3 of us have a trio almost every night. also I get really worried if mom takes me to the vet, I think she is sending me back and doesn't love me anymore. Mom will keep me healthy so that I don't have to see the nice doctor. I found Mom when she needed me most. I help her in any way I can. Mom says I'm a mother hen, becuase if my dogs friends drink water, I am compelled to dry them off. anyhow, Mom has some mobility problems and other issues, that I'm trained to help Mom with.

I'm still a working dog. I help Mom still, but she lets me sleep instead of taking me everywhere always. I also go to a couple retirement homes to visit twice a month.
Mom got Grandma and I each pet guinea pigs almost 2 years ago. Grandma went to the rainbow bridge in December 2011. I miss Grandma, and love the little piggies for both of us.
Mom is having a hard time deciding if she can get by without a new S.D.. I have become a bit lazy, and am usually sleeping when Mom wants help. Union rules, it is overtime after 9:00 P.M.. Dad doesn't want another dog, because as they both know I'm the best dog ever. If they travel, do I still get to fly with them?

no fly zone

we live in a beautiful area, and have fruit trees in the yard. spring until fall, crows are attracted to the fruit trees. well, this spring I decided to take ownership of our trees. only little birds may enjoy our yard. no crows allowed! the used to gather on the roof, a murder, and make a racket. since I have started chasing the crows, it is much quieter, and my people got a bumper crop of cherries, so far. the crows now fly around the yard, but never over it. Mom joked about renting my services out to some of the orchards around here. the orchards have a cannon that goes off a couple times a day, but it doesn't scare the crows for long.

our trip

on January 16 we all got up really early. we got in the car and went on a long road trip. Mom put my uniform on and we went to a restaurant. Dad and her had food while I waited under the table while they ate. then we went for another car ride, this one wasn't as long. we waited for a long time inside a building where Dad gave all their stuff to other people. after a while we walked outside to a set of stairs. Mom had a hard time going up the stairs, so we got to go first. a lady in a uniform said I could stay on floor , any where but at the front or 4th row. Mom decided it would be best for all if we were at the back of the plane. a few more people got on the plan after Dad. the noise started, and got really loud during the vibration, I could tell we were moving. after we were in the air Dad put my blanket on the seat across from them. I jumped up and was much more comfortable then. I watched out the window and saw mountains sticking up through the clouds. I also slept for a while.
