I turned 7 today, Sept 7. Not a huge cake is it? But it was thoughful.

Right before Mom removed the candle so I could eat it, I snitched! Pretty decent mini-mini-cake.

This white stuff isn't too bad; I like to eat it!

Arrival Story:
We've gotten all four of our goldens from small time breeders and have had good luck, health-wise, until Dusty. Unfortunately, Dusty's parents carried the gene for hip dysplasia and Dusty was diagnosed at six months with dysplasia in both hips and a bad knee. I wrote to the woman asking her not to breed her pair again; I never got a reply. That changed my mind about ever again getting a golden that way.

Bio:
His daddy was huge and mama was average size. Dusty has to keep his weight around 85 and no more due to his hip replacement. We're hoping the other hip will not need replaced. We refer to him as the "Six Million Dollar Dog."

Mom tried to give me my daily pill and I yelped in pain. Then I refused any food unless it was on the floor; I would not take it from her hand. Ummmmm, that brought a trip to you-know-where. I wouldn't let the vet open my mouth either...but Mom did a little and I yelped again. Antibiotics in case of abcess and some horrible oral Medicam for a couple days and no better. Return visit to you-know-where. Discontinued antibiotics and a few more days of Medicam which I HATE. I ran away as far in the house as I could when I saw Mom get out the bottle and syringe.......then she had to pry my mouth open just a little to squirt it in and I did a doggie YUCK!

I seem better at that end, but now I have some problems at the other end......Mom says I best get over all this FAST - whatever it is - as she worries. But secretly I love the rice and hamburger though I don't think I can fake the problem that brought that delicious combination to me.......darn! I think I'm generally on the mend.

and so far all I've gotten is a new bowl with pawprints on it. Is that it? I ask you all, shouldn't I get more? I'm four, so I should get four of everything - treats, balls, four cups of food, four walks, well, I could go on and on.......I'm done whining.

One day recently these two very large black dogs showed up and we were told to be good - as if we aren't always good!! They were both females and I thought, "With Zoe to put up with at home, now we have to put up with two more girls?????" But they were okay with us and we were fine with them, though Jesse wouldn't walk past either one. Leave it to Zoe - she quickly learned to step over the girls' heads and continue on her way! Those females!
