We had so much snow! It was deeper than my legs. Perfect! If Momma would have allowed it, I would have stayed outside in the snow all the time. I always feel more like playing when it's snowy. This year, Momma and Daddy took videos of me cavorting in the snow with Jasper. They seem to like watching them. I hear them laughing when the videos are playing.
Momma figured out how to give me another special place to lounge in the dining room. Sometimes I get tired of the table and I move to my gap. Since I prefer being under the table, the chairs are lined up against the wall. They are spaced with two at one end of the wall and three at the other, with a place in the middle for me! It's my second favorite place to spend some quality time snoozing. Now Momma and Daddy call me Gap Girl when I'm in my gap. It's nice and airy. Perfect for spring. If only I could get some snow in here...

Wow, has it really been THAT long since I last updated my diary? I guess so! I do spend a lot of time snoozing so I guess I just lost track of time in my lazing.
Well shortly after my birthday, I got a surprise all right! A new brother! I guess Jasper's OK but he seriously cuts into my monopoly on the cuteness around here. Momma and Daddy say he works the sad the same way I work the cute. I suppose if he is differently cute then it's allowable.
Of course, it's a lot easier to tolerate a new brother since we all got to move back upstairs. There's a lot more space and I have my whole bed again. Jasper likes my bed too. Sometimes I let him hang out when I'm not sleeping. Sometimes I let him know he's overstayed his welcome. Then I get scolded for sitting on his head.
This has been a great spring so far! I hear the people on the TV and in my family wishing winter would end, but I am happy it's staying cool. We got FOUR INCHES of snow a week ago! It was great! We all went in the back yard and played. There are few things in life better than playing in the snow.
I get to go see my friends at Clearview tomorrow! I love it there! So many people to wonder at my cuteness! Momma thinks it's funny that I love going to the vet so much. She tells me she'd rather have it this way though. Hopefully I'll get another clean bill of health and I'll start saving up my cute for my dental appointment in November.

It was my birthday last weekend. Well, at least Momma and Daddy think it was my birthday last weekend. They only know my birthday is in September so they chose the 9th as the day to celebrate every year. I'm nine now. That's supposedly old, but I don't feel old at all! Most everyone I meet is surprised that I'm nine already. I guess it's impressive, but I am just happy to go walking every day and get some loves. It's a good life.
Momma and Daddy gave me a special dinner. I got to have brown rice mixed in too! I licked up every last drop, it was so good! Then we went for a special walk by the river. I wanted to chase the bunnies, but Momma wouldn't let me. I did get to go sniff where the bun-buns were after they scurried off though. It wasn't totally bad.
All in all it was a good birthday. Birthday time also means football season! That means Grammy and Grampy are going to come visit a lot. Uncle Boy-san will probably come over too. It's really my favorite time of year. I get to drink in all the loves I can get! Ah yeah!

It was so HOT! All my hair came loose and I had to have a bath to get it all off. It's not my favorite thing, but I get to have a blow dry and Auntie Bath gives me a cookie afterwards.
Now it's much cooler and I'm much happier. I think Momma and Daddy wish it was a little warmer though. It is still summer after all.
We're living in the basement for a few months while the house is remodeled. Momma says I'll have a lot more space to lounge in. That's good. It also means there are a lot more people around to give me loves. I don't bother them too often though. They're busy at work and I don't want to get in their way.
It's pretty crowded down here. Momma says she feels like we're living in a cave. I like it because I can keep track of everyone more easily and it's much cooler down here than it is upstairs. I miss my coolie mat, though.
We're about half-way through. I don't think any of us are going to know what to do with all the space when we move back upstairs!

I had to go to the vet today. I'm down to a slim and trim 103.9, thank you very much! The doctor was very impressed with my successful weight loss and couldn't say enough about how good I look. She was also very pleased with the stoicism I displayed when I had my vaccinations. I didn't so much as squeak. I'm really quite brave.
Momma has been coming with us on some of my evening walks with Daddy. I get a little extra bounce in my behind when we all walk together. Momma calls it my "Hakuna Mabottom" because I look like Simba in the Lion King when he's singing the Hakuna Matata song. I think it's because she's a little off balance from lack of human interaction during the day. She doesn't talk to me much because I'm usually working very hard at keeping my coolie mat firmly attached to the floor.
I hear that everyone is coming to visit me again this weekend! I really do love it when all my favorites are here. It's so much easier to get my fill of loves when there are more hands to pet me.

Ugh! It has been the worst month (and then some!) ever! We had a big, bad windstorm in the middle of December and a tree fell on my deck! It also hit the house, but the house is OK. The worst part is the tree knocked down part of the fence. Since Momma and Daddy haven't had a chance to work with the neighbor to put the fence back up, I don't get to go in the yard. Bummer drag!
Because they feel sorry for me, Momma and Daddy made it so I can't fall off the part of the deck that was damaged. That way I can still go outside and survey my yard from on high...and I can check whatever news is wafting by on the breezes.
Also, I get a lot more walks than I used to because I can't just go in the backyard when I need to. That's not so bad. Plus, the weather has been nice and sunny (and cold) for a long time so it's lovely just to lounge on the deck.
I miss my yard, but there have definitely been some perks! I guess it hasn't been THAT bad after all!

Boy did I ever have tons to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! I got to spend the whole holiday weekend at Grammy and Grampy's house with everyone - including Uncle Boy-san! Daddy took me out for so many walks because the weather wasn't too bad. And I got to have a little bit of turkey and rice with my dinner on Thanksgiving! It was so cool!
Momma and Daddy and Uncle Boy-san watched the weather at home carefully, though. It's a good thing they did because just as soon as we got home the Sunday after Thanksgiving it SNOWED!! Uncle Boy-san had to leave quickly so he could get to his home before the snow made traveling really scary.
It snowed about four inches that night. And, even though it mostly melted on Monday, it snowed again Monday night! Daddy had to stay home from work because the bus wasn't going to make it to his stop. We had super fun times playing in the snow. We all made up the best new game - Bite the Snowball. All four of my feet actually left the ground at the same time! Then we made snow angels. Mine were more dog-shaped than angel-shaped, but that's OK. The snow stayed around for a long, LOONG time. I had a lot of fun licking it off the deck. Momma and Daddy said it was funny to watch me.
I hope it snows again. I'm happiest when there's a lump of snow for me to lay on!

Wow! October has got to be my favorite month!
I spent the first week of October at camp. I haven't really spent a lot of time at camp this year so I was really excited to go. They are very generous with the loves at camp. Of course, it's easy when I'm such a cuddlebug. Between the fuzzling and the walks, I like camp almost as much as I like home!
Then Grammy and Grampy and Uncle Boy-san were at my house when I came home from camp! I wasn't expecting that! Too bad they couldn't stay and visit longer.
Grammy, Grampy and Uncle Boy-san came to visit again the next weekend. And, my other Grammy and Grampy came to see me too! I was the center of attention, and there was plenty of attention to be had! So many ear scritches and tummy rubs...
Grammy and Grampy from New Mexico brought me all kinds of toys. I love my new squeakin' fish. His fins and tail are just perfect for a nice chew. Momma says I'm spoiled. She's not far from right! Grammy and Grampy had to say goodbye last night. So, for our farewell outing, we all went to the dog park - even though it was pouring rain. I didn't care. It was fun to go tromping around with everyone.
I love having visitors, but boy am I wiped out! I need time to catch up on my naps.

It's raining today! Not that I'm terribly excited about the rain, but it also means it's cooler today. We've had such a warm, dry summer this year. I'm ready for fall and WINTER! Although I heard Momma say they are not predicting much snow this year. Too bad! I LOVE snow.
It was pretty cool last week, but then it warmed up again over the weekend. I'm so happy I have my coolie mat and my fan when it gets warm. Momma and Daddy do their best to make sure I'm comfortable in the heat, in spite of my fuzzy coat. I didn't blow much of it this year, so it's still pretty thick. I get impatient with my daily brushings but secretly it makes me feel better.
Grammy and Grampy are coming up and Uncle Boy-san is coming down this weekend! I love it when everyone comes to visit! In a month or so, my second Grammy and Grampy are coming to visit too! I'm going to be the belle of the ball.
I'm enjoying snoozing on the cool floor under the dining room table. The sound of the rain is soothing...especially since I'm nice and dry inside!

Momma was gone for a LONG time! She's finally home again! I missed her, but mostly I missed lounging on my coolie mat all day. I had to be outside all day while Daddy was at work. It's getting hot outside because it's summer now. Summer is definitely not my favorite. I have to wait until it's late so it's cool enough for walking. The word on the street is that it's for my own good so I don't get too hot. Really I just think it's too hot for Momma and Daddy too!
The best thing about summer (if there is such a thing) is I get to spend more time in my dirt spots. Those are the coolest places in my yard. My favorite is my dirt house - it's a little den I hollowed out in a boxwood hedge. It's so nice in there! Momma and Daddy are always amazed at how much dirt I can get on my face in just a few hours. I don't have any white left on me...it's all kind of dirt brown.
Fortunately, living in Western Washington, I don't have to put up with too much summer. If I wait patiently enough, it will be winter before I know it!
