Arrival Story:
Our big lab , Beau, needed a friend, according to the vet. Moxie was a puppy from his older sister, who lived on a farm in southern California. I did not want a puppy, but the people who gave me Beau brought her over when she was 5 weeks old. She bit the big lab on the lip and ended up hanging from it when he lifted his head. He was very calm, and just looked at me with this tiny puppy dangling from his lip, and I knew they would be best friends.
Bio:
Moxie had extra toes on her back legs that were removed. She and Beau have a secret language where they sneeze at each otherto communicate. They taught our new dog this languageas well!
Moxie talks about everything, and if you aske her a series of questions about what she wants she will bark at the right answer, like "water" or "go outside" or "dinner". She also tries to use her paws like hands, and will grip you or pat you. She hates to eat unless it's treats, and sometimes has to be hand fed when she loses too much weight.

Moxie sprained her tail again last week. She is moslty recovered. There was a bite mark suspciously close to the sprain, Mel might have had a part in this. Nothing sadder than a tail that won't stand up! Also, Daddy went back to work during the day so Moxie is a bit anxious. She needs lots of lap time at night, and she is a big girl... 79 lbs!
