Quick Bio:
-purebred-dog rescue

Likes:
He loved to chase butterflys. He also loved to go to work with me.

Pet-Peeves:
Being left in the car. He would bark until I came back.

Favorite Toy:
Playing with toys were not his thing, but he liked a good rawhide.

Favorite Food:
Freeze dried liver treats. He could hear the clink of the container from a deep sleep in the other room.

Favorite Walk:
In the park, around the lake.

Arrival Story:
The people who owned Spec were moving and didn't want him anymore. They said their new house had white carpet, and he would get it dirty. He was such a sweet dog, I snatched him up. He went to work with me everyday, and became the official greeter. Kids would come to the vet just to see Spec. He was a wonderful companion for a very short time. He was only with me for about 4 years.

Bio:
Spec became sick with a new type of cancer to the canine world. It is a form of leukemia, and I walk for him every year in the Light the Night walk for leukemia and lymphoma. Our vet hospital raises money every year in his honor. He fought a hard fight, and taught not only me, but the medical veterinarians who worked on him a lot. Knowing I was loosing him was hard. Knowing he didn't die in vain means a lot. We sent him to the bridge under a tree at work. The next day, though I wasn't there to see it, the people who I worked with said there was a swarm of butterflys around that tree. Every time I see a butterfly, I know it's Specey, letting me know he's still there. Our vet hospital has butterfly bushes all around the building now in honor of him.
