I wanna bite my leg off

I really do. But I have this plastic e-collar on, preventing me from fulfilling my desire. Drat.

Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture

That's what I did to my left rear leg. I came up lame about 4 weeks ago, the pawrents took me to the Vet 3 weeks ago, made an appointment for the joint specialist 2 weeks ago, and now, tomorrow, I am going in for surgery. I'll be in the dog hospital overnight.

The doctors are doing something called a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO). It will eliminate the need for the cranial cruciate ligament. A semicircular bone cut is created in the tibia. The cut bone is then rotated (ouch!) and a specialized bone plate is inserted. The result is a durable, lifelong repair. I'll be out of commission for 8 looooong weeks. That kinda sucks.

Goals for the New Year

I have 3 goals for the new year:

1) Keep all the dishes in the house clean.

2) Keep all the trash cans nice and empty.

3) Keep Enkidu, Winry and Boomer in-line around the house. Enkidu and Winry know I'm the alpha dog, the top Captain, but Boomer tends to ignore my orders sometimes... of course I let her get away with it because she is so incredibly cute!

All I want for Christmas is....

1) No more baby gates (they keep me from the sink and trash can, my two favorite places)

2) Daddy to let me kiss his face for 15 minutes straight

3) Winry to stop barking at me while I play fetch with Mommy

4) Lots and lots of TREATS!!!!

Holiday Picture Party

Mommy entered our family photo with Santa in the Picture Party. For Christmas I asked Santa for more open doors to the bathroom (and its trashcan) and more dirty dishes to be left in the sink... for me to lick clean, of course!

Sleeping backwards on the couch

Now this is the life. Who needs to watch tv? I'd rather watch the back of the sofa with my eyes closed. Zzzzzzz......

Hands off my Boomer!!!

I went to the groomer yesterday. I LOVE the groomer, but I've never been there with my sister Boomer before. There I was at the groomer's, sitting quietly in my crate, when I heard Boomer crying from the table!!! What was the groomer doing to my little sister?!?!? Bark! Bark! Cry! WHINE!!!!!!!! BARK!!! I tried my best to save the Boomer, but was stuck in the crate. :o(

After it was all over, Boomer was fine...better than fine, she is sooooo soft and cuddly. I'm going to go cuddle with her now.

New Doors

Some strangers came to my house today to install two new storm doors. Mom and Dad can keep the front door open again... but most importantly, I can once again keep watch over the neighborhood. First task: watching Mom drive off to work. Second task: keep an eye out for the mailman.....
