We had been looking for a dog for sometime I had wanted one since I was VERY little and now i'm 17 and it was coming up for xmas my mum agreed to letting me have my first dog.We had been to shelters called up in papers but no luck.It was a thursday and as usual me and my mum where in town and just whent to look into the pet shop to go look at the rodents and we always look at the adverstiment board we saw there was 2 posters that stood out one for st bernard puppies £950 and a yellow poster with the words sad sale of barney we looked it over and saw the photo it was love at first sight so we called the people up told them all about us and after agreeing that we was just right she had him dropped off at our house the next day.

Bio:
Barney is a very passive dog everywhere we go people fall in love with him. He has passed his kennel club good citizen's bronze, silver & gold awards. Barney loves playing with a ball but he also likes other dogs (providing they don't go for him or try to have thier way with him) and other animals. He currently lives with Spike the cat and several rats who he gets on well with and has no consern over either. I could not ask for a better dog

We decided to add a journal in aid as I'm not a "Rescue" dog as of such but rather a rehomed, I came from a family who could no longer keep me. I came with the basic of Recall, Sit & How to walk on a head collar nothing else now I know about 40 commands. The picture of me layed on the floor is me when i first came and all the others are of me now.

Mum spent 2 years volunteering and the local animal shelter and previous to that grew up helping out at husky rescue who have now moved away for bigger premises though mum visits average once or twice a year. The main adoption shelter we work for is English springer spaniel welfare (ESSW) ( http://www.essw.co.uk/ ) well not rearly work as we just foster dogs currently and try to find them new homes but we also donate alot of items etc or find ways to raise some extra money or post flyers about the rescue in hopes more springer's find homes.

Most recently we done a 3k race with our friend who is co-ordinator for ESSW for Gables cats and dog's farm though we made sure we was the last and had a major time we had rejesterd ourselfs and the dogs ( you only had to register yourself ) not sure how much we raised but had a good time.

In the future mum would like to be able to set her own rescue up but for very special dogs that have been in kennels over 2 years and she would like to train and help them with whatever problem that may put people off adopting them and also try to find them homes all over the uk rather than just in a select area but would have maybe volunteers or such help do homechecks and stuff.

We don't care about winning we just thought this was fun to enter and if there's anything that we can do to help please let us know.

Thankyou Very much

Daisy & Barney
