All about Christmas

Our furless brother, wife, son and the 2 Boxers arrived at our house for Christmas the weekend prior to the holiday. Since we had just seen them all at Thanksgiving it wasn't quite such a wild and crazy greeting from the Boxers. Thank goodness!!!! I had to "protect and defend" my sister, Suzy Q, from the Boxers, but it wasn't as ferocious and often as in the past. We even snoozed in the same room every day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha

Suzy & I felt somewhat deprived during their 1 week visit as we couldn't have our treats. hmmmphhh Those crazy Boxers would have attacked us for our yummy treats. Seems they don't get many--or as good of treats--or something. Mom gave them a bunch from our store to take home and they did get some big flavored rawhide bones for Christmas.

We had family and friends gift opening on Christmas Eve. We got a ton of great gifts from our exchange partners, Lucie & Lottie. We each got a couple of new toys from mom and dad. Our pal, Duncan, sent us some bagels and a picture and mom got some chocolate coins. Mom had to put up our toys and pillows and blankies cuz the Boxers wanted to play with everything. We didn't want Boxer slobber on our new toys!!! BOL

Sam, one of the Boxers, must be part bloodhound cuz he managed to sniff out those bagels. He tore off the paper and started munching one. So, mom gave the other one to Gracie, the other Boxer. Since we got a lot more presents than they did, mom figured we could share.

Fall 08 Tag

I got tagged by my friend Mistress Flippy of the Fall. Now I need to write down 7 things about myself (so everyone knows me better!!) and then tag 7 friends.

1. I am a BIG boy!!! Went to the dogtor this week and weigh almost 24 pounds. My breeder tells mom that it's the Lhasa ancestry coming out in me!!

2. I LUV my dinner (obviously!!!) although I can turn up my nose at some treats!!

3. I'm the lap doggy. Mom has to sit in a big chair or on the sofa in order to have me on her lap though. Otherwise I don't have enough lap to sprawl on!! BOL

4. I evidently have some allergies and post-nasal drip right now. I've been hacking. Scares Suzy to death when I do that and she runs and hides somewhere!!! hahahaha (Now I know how to get rid of her!!!)

5. I WUV to walk every evening. I just trot right along at a good clip.

6. I WUV riding in the stroller too, although we haven't done that lately. :(

7. I use this girly-sounding voice when I'm whining to come back in the house!! Mom says it's a sound NOT expected from a big boy like me. hahahaha

I got Halloween Tricked too

Late last night after daddy had gone to bed, Suzy & I were snoozing while mom was on the computer in another room. All of a sudden a noise outside scared me and I let out my hound-dog bark. Then I barked again and mom came running to see what was the matter. I was standing and looking out the back screen door. Then mom saw dad and he came in the house. {Blush} Oh, it was just dad!!! {Blush}

Turns out that dad had decided it had turned cool enough that no one would be using the pool anymore this year. He thought he might as well turn off the automatic pump for the skimmers. BUT, he went out through another door instead of the door near Suzy & I. All I knew was that there were possible intruders outside and I was gonna let mom know!!!! hmmpphhh Dad ended up playing a good trick on me!!!

Mom and dad signed my guest book!!!

WOW!!! My real mom, Pocahantas, and my real dad, Mei Saki, signed my "guest book". They came by to look at my pictures and check out my Dogster page. How awesome is that!!!! I just wish I could go visit them. They always have new puppies around. That would be fun!!! I'll bet mom and dad are afraid they couldn't go home without a new puppy if we went to visit. BOL

So much for exercise tonight!!! hahaha

We all headed over to the Fairgrounds parking lot after dinner tonight for our exercise walk. We didn't make 1 complete circuit before Suzy started going slower and slower and slower. Mom and dad didn't know if it was too soon after eating for her, so we made it back to the van to get the stroller. Suzy was quite happy to hitch a ride in the stroller. I wanted to get in too, but dad said I had to walk some more.

Welllllll, I can pull Suzy's maneuver also. I slowed down and then would stop. I was also looking at the stroller and mom and waggling my tail. hahaha I finally got my wish!!! Dad said it was gonna be too difficult to try to walk if I was gonna be stubborn. So, Suzy & I mostly rode tonight while mom and dad walked. WooHoo!!!!!!!!!! BOL

Still plugging along!!

We went on our evening walk at the Fairgrounds parking lot again tonight. We got to go "beyond" the lights as it was still light out when we started. At least that way, we got a slightly different view for part of the walk. BOL

It was clouding over a lot and lightning was starting to flash closer in, so we decided we'd better call 30 min. enough of a walk for tonight!!! Suzy & I sure enjoy our ride in the stroller!!! Mom thinks that we may be able to go places in our stroller now that "dogs are NOT really allowed". We may try this weekend cuz there is all kinds of stuff going on! I hope so as it sounds like FUN!!!!

On with the exercise program BOL

We ate dinner late tonight and it was dark by the time we all finished. Mom asked dad if he was willing to try going to the Fairgrounds parking lot to walk tonight. He said, "Sure!!" Mom loaded our stroller in the van and off we all went.

Our Fairgrounds is only about a mile drive from our house and the parking lot (wellllll, most of it) has street lights at regular intervals. Turns out the pavement is really bad, but mom and dad can have more of a workout pushing our stroller that way! hahaha

Mom had told dad to park in the middle of the lot, so it would be quick from any direction to get back to the van. They got the stroller out and our leashes on and we all started our walk. Mom and dad said, "This is dumb! We ought to leave the stroller in the van until the kids get tired." So they did take the stroller to the van. Dad thinks we walked about 1 1/2 miles until we got tired and slowed down a lot. Then Suzy & I rode together in the stroller for another mile to mile and a half. We walked a little more and then called it a night.

Now Suzy & I are sprawled on the cool tile in the kitchen--cooling off and taking a nap!!! BOL

Since our road does NOT have street lights, we can't walk on it after dark. If mom and dad want to continue the walking into the winter with the whole family, then the Fairgrounds parking lot will work out great!!!

Walk, ride, walk, ride!!!

We had a pretty good day today--except for NOT getting to go to the store with mom for a little while. Since she wasn't gone too long, we forgive her!!! BOL

We definitely don't mind mom being home more and cooking some great meals. I love to eat, and I love good cooking. hahaha Tonight, mom made Steak Diane, and Suzy & I got a little of the steak. Oh heaven!!! I'm talking filet mignon steak!!!!

Right after clean up from dinner, we got ready for our evening walk. This time, mom got our stroller and said Suzy & I would ride some so mom and dad could walk faster. Well, we trotted right down the road--with a couple of stops. Mom had 2 poo bags full. BOL At the end of the road, mom put Suzy & I in the stroller and we road back up the hill. Actually, it's only an gradual incline, but Suzy & I tend to walk so slow that mom and dad get frustrated. So, tonight we rode up the hill. Then we all walked back down again.

Mom and dad were surprised cuz I had to make another poo stop. Sheesh!!! All this walking must be good for me!!!!! Suzy & I did not make it quite to the end of the road before we needed to ride again. Oh well!!! We'll keep going longer and further each time. These rides in the stroller are kinda fun though!!!!

Daddy walked with us last night

Even though mom and dad aren't sure if I'm feeling well, we all went for a short walk last night. I was shaking my head some, so daddy thinks my eustachion (sp?) tubes are blocked AGAIN.

We met a lady walking her black lab and a black toy poodle named Kisses. hahaha I thought that was a funny name. I sure didn't want to kiss her anyway cuz she was too noisy and hyper. She did a lot of yike yike yike!!!! The black lab was very nice and friendly and all of us said "Hi" to her and mom petted her.

After my nap, I laid on daddy's lap on the recliner sofa. Ahhhhhh I think both dad and mom were shocked that I chose dad 1st. Dad almost did a "na na nanie na na" at mom. BOL
