Arrival Story:
The local vet called us to say she needed someone to foster Kellie asap because her owner was going to shoot her if the vet didn't put her down! She would pee on the owners bed, who said she didn't have time to pay attention to Kellie when she came home from work! Well, if you were left alone for over 15 hours a day and not being paid attention to, wouldn't you pee on her bed too??!! Anyway, Kellie stayed for a week and got along really well with Elvis, so we kept her. She has destroyed some of our furniture by peeing on every corner, etc. but we finally got it under control after 3 years and she now rarely makes pee, pee by mistake (out of spite maybe, but not by mistake!).

February 21, 2008: Noticed Kellie losing weight, being really tired just not herself so we took her to the vet on Feb. 19th. She is very sick..probably cancer...She has had a very good life with us and is not in any pain but we have to make the decision on whether to put her to rest this's really hard & we are extremely sad and upset about this. June 26, 2006: Just found out on Friday that Kellie is actually a year older than we thought! I knew it! There was just too much grey on her face for a 9yr old dog! New nickname? Ol' Girl

Kellie passed over the Rainbow Bridge today Saturday February 23 2008. Although we are deeply saddened by our loss her quality of life had greatly diminished in the past few weeks. Our hearts go out to all pet owners who face this decision. We are glad that she spent eight good years being loved after being rescued.

Mom & Dad took me to the vet at the end of June and the vet, Dr. Michelle, looked at my former owners file & told them I was a year older than they thought!! I'm 10 years old, not 9 like Elvie! Everyone is starting to comment on my grey fur around my face. I mean, how rude is that! I don't ask humans how old they are!

I'm starting to get a bit slow at the beach, can't chase Elvie like before. I have one spurt and then I'm toast. Some days, when we walk back to the parking lot, I'll just sit there and Dad will have to pick me up. He sometimes can get cranky with me because of it but I don't care, I can be just as cantankerous as he is, lol!
