Arrival Story:
A lady who does rescues on her own found Deacon in a pound about to be put down! He had been picked up from the street with fur matted down and covered with over 100 ticks! She saved him , took him to a vet, and put an ad in the paper. We saw the ad and called her early on Friday morning, May 25, 2001. When we saw him at the vet, he was scared to death, trembling and shaking! He was almost clean shaven(because of the ticks) and looked like a half-drowned rat! Also when cleaning him up it was discovered that he had been abused-a wire was still on him! We brought him home for a trial and the rest is history! We feel so fortunate to have him and we think the feeling is mutual!
Bio:
We are sorry to say that Deacon got sick last year and went downhill very fast. We had him put down in August, 2011. It was hard to talk about for a long time. He was a great dog and we loved him very much!
