I travel lot with my mom and dad, I am originally from cool weather, San Francisco, CA but we moved to Williamsurg, VA, where it is HOT!! I first had allergies or so we thought. This past summer was very bad for me, I got very tired and didn't know why I was always hinking like a " G O O S E", yes you read that correctly, I was always coughing, hacking and honking, when I got excited, went outside or just hung out. In September 07, mom took to me to see, " white coat" aka doggie doctor. Mom was told I had a Collapse Trachea , I was coughing and I was always very tired just trying to breathe Mom didn her research and contacted all the really smart yorkies on here yorkie egroups at Yahoo groups, and there, she got great advise, so we went to see the BEST vets at Tennessee University. I was evaluated (Jan. 24 & 25) and the doctors put in a stent in my trachea. The University of Tennessee Small Animal clinic was awesome.

Mom and I hope to put up a webpage with answers to questions, I wish had gotten answerd, when we were reasearching this illness. I am still recovering and hope tobe back to my normal routine. Please email me is you, have gone the endoscopy and had a stent put in. We would like to read, you are doing. Email me, if you have any useful information, we can add to our Collapse Trachea D'tails webpage. Woof!!

Madison's dtails of the chamber of horrors... :)

Hi paws,
It’s me, Madison; It has been a long while, since I was able to write, so I am a bit bcked up. Below is my latest entry ..
Yesterday, mom took back to the doggie doctor’s chamber of tortures. I don’t like the table, they have there, it is cold and some other lady comes in the room and sticks me with a stick in my booty. I get scared and want mom to pick me up; she just tells me, it is ok. I think to myself, “MOM, I am not ok; can’t you see, what is happening here?” The doctor talks to me in a sweet voice and she listens to my chest, so I thought, she likes me but then she sent in another to stick a HUGE needle in my hip. Mommy thought she would take a picture of me, because I was not happy to be there. How you handle your trip to the doggie doctor chamber of horrors? Do you get treats or special belly rubs after the tortures? Hint; sad puppy eyes, timid body language will get you lots of hugs and kisses.
Mom was freaked out over some mystery maggot in my water bowl. The doctor said some fly have dropped them. I think the maggots were just thirsty! The doctor also said that even if I did eat one of the critters, it would just be a little extra protein. I prefer chicken or steak for my protein. Loops, mom is coming... bark at you later. Hi paws to you.

One of my yorkie pals, reminded of the Yorktoberfest online album, I forgot to post. It was awesome! Mom and I met a pretty young little lady named Scarlette and her mom, Megan, together we drove to West Friendship, MD for the Annual www.Yorkierescueme.com fundraiser. It was great, we met some of our online friends from the yorkieland egroup. Here is the link to the pixs and videos. http://picasaweb.google.com/MadisonYorkie/Yorktoberfest07

bark at you later.. Madison & Lizzy
