So, mom decides that in honor of my 5th birthday she wants to do the MMI Genomics Canine Heritage Breed Test and sends off my doggie DNA to the lab. For the last three years we've suspected I was a German Shepherd/Welsh Corgi mix. I mean I herd like you can't believe and I'm always ALWAYS underfoot! It just makes sense...plus look at me. Have you ever seen ears like this on anything BUT a Shepherd or a Corgi?

So, more than anything else, mom says I'm a purebred Brown Dog but today she found out something that made all of us go...WHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAT?

My primary breed is unknown meaning my parents were not purebred ANYTHING. Well, no duh! I was after all found wandering the streets as a puppy so what does that tell you?

Anyway, the 38 categories included, and currently available, do not include any Corgis so hopefully they'll eventually be able to identify my primary breed. But for now, it's a DNA fact that I am, at least:

Chinese Shar-Pei
Chow Chow
Mastiff

Yeah, I know. Pick yourself up off the floor and join me in wondering "what in the world were my parents thinking? And their parents? And their parents?"

Yikes! I am the quintessential purebred Brown Dog, ain't I?
