After I lost my first Sheltie to lymphoma I wanted to find a new Sheltie to share my life with. I searched for over a year to find just the right match. With my first dog, I'd blow on the back oh her head and she'd look up and then I'd kiss her. D'Artagnan looked up.

Bio:
D'Artagnan has won many costume and trick contest. He has several elaborate costumes handmade just for him. He has a noble bearing, but can also be absolutely goofy. With the help of his sister, Aramis, he won his people a trip to London in a dog trick contest. D'Artagnan is currently in training for a Victorian Dog Melodrama in which he will take one of the starring roles. It will be performed next April at the Creative Alliance in Baltimore, Maryland. D'Artagnan just played the family dog in a short film which will air on PBS next year.

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Today is my birthday.

It's been a very big year for me. I got to be in a parade, I was a guest performer at several events where I got to stay in a hotel, I won some contests, I was in a movie, I starred in my first theatrical production, and the biggest thing for me... my family moved.

The main reason I haven't written lately or played on Dogster is because of my busy schedule with the play - and then the big move!

Mommy and Daddy surprised Aramis and me. We stayed and grandma and grandpa's house while mommy and daddy packed up our apartment. We continued to stay there while they moved stuff into our new townhouse. We stayed there while Mommy and Daddy worked so hard to paint and clean and get everything ready for our arrival (they did it all in one week - and they have A LOT of stuff to put away.)

Finally, we got to go to our new house. At first, Aramis was really scared - like it was someone's house she didn't know. But within minutes we both recognized our stuff and realized it was all for us. Mommy and Daddy made us a nice nook with a doggie bed and pillows for us to lie on in the living room.

To our surprise, we now have our own deck and yard, right off of the main level. Even more surprising is that we have an upstairs - where our bedroom is. And it's not white, like our apartment. Our parents painted it a pretty sagey green. And there bathroom is so much bigger than the old one. AND there was another room upstairs where Mommy will sew and make crafts and stuff.

And that's not all!! My favorite place in the house was in the basement! THREE floors! This is a doggie palace! The basement is like a library - and has our old futon. I was so happy to see it and jumped up on it right away.

Aramis and I have a water dish on every floor! And the one in the bedroom looks like a royal crown with jewels!! The house has a lot of light. And a lot of room to run around and play, which Aramis and I do much more often now. I feel like a puppy again!!

This will be short because I have to leave for my performances today.

The Baltimore Sun wrote a feature article about Aramis and me - and the play. The article in the newspaper was the front page story of the TODAY section - and featured three photos - including one in color!

The online version doesn't have pictures, but here it is:

There is an illustration of a scene from the play I'm rehearsing, "Caesar The Watch Dog of the Castle," and Aramis and I are in it!

I'm the one binding one of the bad guys' hands, and Aramis is jumping on the head villain. And my Mommy is the one in the middle with the sword - she's playing a boy.

Yay me!!! And the artist captured my good side!
