Arrival Story:
He and his sister were available; she was VERY aggressive at 8 weeks, and he was very meek. Turns out he had Tick Fever and was deathly ill for one whole year. After much medication, constant TLC, Reiki and care, he came through with flying colors to be an absolute delight and a gorgeous studly boy. Because he was so sick he didn't get socialized very well. Teddy's appearance has been such a positive influence. Teddy is fearless and will meet anyone with glee. Anakin watches how Teddy reacts and has now begun to take to people much more. He actually likes new people and new dogs now!

Bio:
Anakin loves the cold, naturally, but has adapted to Tucson heat. He is cinnamon colored, with red highlights and beautiful markings. His Spanish name before I got him was "Tres Flores", which means Three Flowers, as he has a Fleur-de-lis marking on his face. After 6 years, he's finally gotten used to Mom smothering him with kisses and love. Now he "tolerates" the mushiness instead of pulling away. Just the other day he actually gave me a kiss for the first time ever!

My birthday

I have it on the greatest authority that as it's my birthday today, we are going to have hamburgers on the grill tonight, and one of them is just for me!

Despite having been really sick my first year of life, I've managed to make it to 11 years, and it's all because Mom really takes good care of us.

I wonder if there will be any other special treats for me tonight? YUM!

On the Move again!

Sorry not to have written... we've moved again, but still in the San Diego area. Mom decided to move to a smaller house, and even though there isn't as large a back yard as before, it's a MUCH nicer place! We get to see her every day because the house is smaller and her office is right there, open to us. So now Moki and I can lie down by her feet as she works on the computer.

And this neighborhood has tons of dogs too! All around us there are dogs, so we have lots of people to bark and "chat" with all day long. And when we go on walks, we meet up with all our neighborhood buddies. It's just very cool! Everyone here is so nice to us!

The only bad part is that shortly after we moved in we were protecting Mom and investigated an intruder on the property late at night. Turned out it was something called a skunk, and boy, did it leave a bad smell! We got way too many baths in the following weeks just trying to get that icky smell off us! Fortunately, nothing like has traveled into our back yard again!

All in all, this was a great move!

New Food!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Mom decided to start making food for us again, and am so happy! I can always tell she makes it with so much love. She uses chicken, or fish, and sometimes meat (my favorite - but I really don't care). I like it when she uses oats and brown rice the best. Not too crazy about yams, but Moki likes them. I LOVE green beans mixed in too and lots of garlic and onions. YUM! Very yummy in the tummy!

I had forgotten how good her food is! And best of all she made some homemade treats for us the other days. Some were in dog bone style and some looked like circles. I didn't have time to look at them too closely - too busy gulping them down!

Love my mom!
