Well, my BowWow Budds, here it is. Snow in the Maritimes. I have been really enjoying the 'winter' so far this year. Almost no snow and lots of that gooey, messy, dog's best friend stuff- MUD!! And, what's this??? Snow. And not just a little bit of it. Yeah. You know what I mean. Flying around in your face up your nose kind of stuff. OK. Truth be told, I love to eat that fluffy white stuff... but on my own terms, man!! I don't like to be force fed, if you know what I mean! Sheesh!! That stuff is raw up the old Schnoz!!
Anyway, tomorrow is another day. I'm certain it will be a good snuffin' and snortin' kind of day. Less wind, all pleasurable experience. Take it on my own terms. You know.
Today, my Dad took me for a great run before the storm started. He gets kinda cranky when I don't listen, so, I paid pretty close attention and didn't run off to mess around like I sometimes do. 'Sides, he really bragged me up to Mom when we got home, and you KNOW I like that!! HAAAA!! She gave me that really happy, "I'm-proud-of-you" look that she does and got me some fresh water. I was feelin' good!! Then, my Dad even took me out for a little tramp around once the storm began. He likes walking in the falling snow. Mom was busy with the small ones, so they didn't come out. Yeah, I liked it. Even better, Dad had put some compost stuff on the counter and forgot about it...I couldn't say for sure, but, I think the Treat Fairy came by and gave it a little push in my direction... oh, yes, that's what I Think happened. There was some really tasty skin from chicken Mom was making for supper!! I am one lucky dog!!
Well, it's been a long day and I think I'm about ready to take in some TV before bed. Mom likes me to keep her company. I'm glad to help out around the house, you know, when I can!!

Hey Doggie Pals!!
It's almost 11p.m., so I won't write long. Well, you know, I've gotta get my beauty rest. Today, was a beautiful, mild day. When Mom let me out for my morning stroll, I was tempted to make the neighbourhood rounds. However, Mom seemed to read my mind and came out with me to remind me to come in for breakie. I do so enjoy my kibble. She thinks she's putting me through my paces to earn my meal - little does she know!! I'm way ahead of her!! I know exactly what she's going to ask me to do and if she'd just let me do my routine, we'd be zippity-do-da done and I'd get my breakfast a lot quicker!! Sheesh!! Parents!
Anyway. My Mom took the little guy and I down the road for a walk to the mailbox. I had a great time!! I stopped in to see my friend, Copper, who lives just across the road. She's a lovely Irish Setter, but, she doesn't get out much. When she is out, her family ties her to a big wooden chair, so I always tell her if she'd pull hard enough she could get away for a walk with me. We've discussed it in detail, and were in the thick of it today, but Mom seemed to think we were disturbing the peace, or something. What can I say? A dog's gotta bark!! I did find some lovely kitty-cat bonbons in her yard, which I thanked her for repeatedly. After our trip to the mailbox, we played in the yard for a long time. Mom found some great sticks for me and threw them all over the place. I must confess, I was more than ready to go in for a rest when we were done!! Let me tell you, my tongue was hanging out like a dog!! I mean, I was 'dog-tired'!! Oh. Yeah. Right.
Later, I had a good chat with the cats. Funny how I do most of the talking. Although, Mom and Dad don't seem to see the humour. Hmmm.
Anyway. There's nothing like spending time with the family!! Dontcha think?!
Well, Gotta Snooze!

Well, Hello all!
My Mom and I had a rather nice morning. I suggested a walk, to which my Mom simply replied, "Garbage Day!" Now, to my way of thinking, that translates to, "Let's leave now and don't forget the 'doggy bags'!" Sometimes I just don't get her!
So, we hung out together while the kids were out, and even that was nice. There was sufficient cat chasing and barking at said cats, but, very little mouthing of those little pests. It's funny when I turn my head and look away, they can still see me. Hmmm. Must be psychic or something.
This afternoon, Mom, the two kids and I went out for a romp. It's funny to see my little furless siblings all bundled up at the least sign of cold. Even my Mom is a big wimp!! Yep! I have actually heard her say that she doesn't like the cold!! And it's barely dipped below zero Celsius! I don't know why they don't just grow a furry coat like mine. It's attractive, easy to care for, goes with everything and never goes out of style! What more can you ask for?!
So. After everyone is weather-readied, we head out and WoweeKabowee!! I find a wonderfully crunchy, terrifically big stick!! It was a little awkward at first, but before long I had the hang of running with it, without catching it on the ground and sending myself catapulting across the yard. Not that that would happen. My Mom even stepped on it and I had to try and get it. What fun!! Then, the furless ones were playing some kind of game involving running and laughing and calling out things like, "Home base!" and "You're It!" so, of course I had to run along with them,(with my stick, of course) just to make sure everyone played safe!! They even played one of my favorite games, which, I might add, I'm also quite good at. It is called, "Find Them!" It goes like this; Someone hides and then someone else calls out, "Find Them!!" (complicated, I know!) Of course, the impressive finale is me finding whoever 'them' is. Aahh! I like that game. Love it even!! It was dark all too soon and it was time to go in. The upside was, it was Supper Time!! The downside was, I was muddy again and had to stay in the kitchen. Of course, that's where Mom makes the supper thing happen, so what can I say...It's all good!!
Yeah. So. Another day is wagging to its close. It is 9:20p.m. here in Halifax, and yes, the little ones are all tucked into their beds. Wish I could sleep on their beds...they're so warm. Oh, well. I guess I'll have to content myself with the love seat while Mom's not looking...
I'm off to Doggy Dreamland!!

Hey There!!
So. Today it was rainy-just a light drizzle really. I didn't expect to get much of a walk in today, but, my Mom actually decided that I'm probaby NOT made of sugar, therefore, no melting. O.K. She probably knew before today about the sugar thing, and me not being made of it, but, hey! a dog's gotta try, right?!
Yep! After taking the little guy to his thing, she came back and took a good look at me. I must confess that I worked up a pretty good 'sad eyes' look, and she said,"O.K. Let me get my sneakers on." and poof we were off!! It was a great day for a stroll, if you ask me. Sheesh! Even if you don't ask me!! In the drizzle, everything had taken on a fresh poo smell. I love it!! Our sub-division has mainly dirt roads and I love the way my feet make little 'splat-splat' sounds on the muddy road as I trot along. Aaah! Even though Mom brought my lead, she didn't even put it on me. We had a great time playing my favorite games; " I'm not Listening, I don't even Hear You!" and of course, "Go Ahead! I'll Catch Up!" Actually, I like to stick pretty close to Mom, just in case I need to protect her from some nasty dog who might pop out of a ditch, or perhaps a ferocious wild boar or worse yet, a rabid polar bear. Yep! Protectin' my Mom is my first line of duty. Since I haven't had much problem with Wild Boar or Polar Bears, I am usually free to examine the 'leavin's' of other canines in my neighbourhood and, of course, leave some of my own! Since I knew Mom had some of my absolute fav snacks in her pocket, I did try to keep fairly close to her. I kind of like it when she gets a bit ahead of me, and then I have to really pour on the Turbo charge to catch up. Best of all, when she calls me and I do listen (hey! It's happened!) she gives me one of my yummy snacks!! It's a good arrangement. I'm considering making listening one of my attributes. Hmmm. I'll put it on my 'To Do' list anyway.
Yeah, so on the way home I was fortunate to discover a truly scrumtious piece of StinkyYummyYahoo, perfect for rolling in!! Great, eh?! So, of course, I rolled in it-right on my right ear-about four times. Mom kept calling me, but, it was just too good to pass up!! Besides, I knew when she smelled me she would change her mind!! Hee Hee!
The only down side to the whole expedition was that by the time I got home, I was quite, well, muddy-drippy-dirty-stinky. I had to stay in the kitchen until I was dry and "Suitable for the Whole Family" whatever that means!! Oh, well. Mom gave me some yummy carrots with my supper tonight, and now that the kids are in bed, I'm going to have her all to myself!!
'Night All!!

Chello!!!
Well! What a great weekend I have had!! My family took me in the car( with a little convincing) and we went on a long drive to Gramma's house. I didn't get sick at all, although I'm really not too fond of car rides. Mom says I'm doing great because I used to throw up every twenty minutes on the dot, the entire hour and a half we were travelling. These days Dad hardly ever has to stop the car for a pit stop. Anyway. I love going to Gramma's-well, not the going part, the being there part!! I went on a long walk in the woods with the kids and my Uncle. We had a great time, even though we couldn't go too far (it's deer season). When it was time for bed, my Dad put my bed on his side, I wanted to sleep beside Mom, so I pulled it over to her side before I could rest. (I think she needs my protection more that Dad)
The best thing about our visit was that my cousin, Buddy, arrived from New Brunswick. We had the best time together!! We ran and ran and played with his Kong for a long time!! His Kong has a rope on it and we love to play tug-o'-war with it!!! I didn't want to leave when it was time to go home. I tried to tell Mom and Dad by staying away from the car when they told me we were leaving, but, they said we had to go and that was that. Sheesh!! What happened to 'let's talk about it'? That's what I'd like to know!! Don't I get a say in anything? Oh, well. I told Buddy maybe I'd see him soon. At least at Christmas we get lots of time together!! Well, the ride home was OK (no barfing) and I did get to bark a big hello to my neighbour, Ozzy. I had good dreams last night about playing with Buddy and running in the woods...what can I say...Happy Me!! (:

Yawn. That's all I have to say about today!! My Mom has been in and out of the house all day!! It's driving me nuts!! We did go out for a bit, and she at least brought out one of those nice, new, yellow balls for me to play with. I don't know who she thinks she is; giving me this ball and then trying to take it away from me!!! Then she throws it and when I get it she expects me to give it back! AGAIN!!!! I just want to have a little time to roll it around under my paws, chew it up a bit (it's too clean and new looking) and drop it so it rolls down the hill!! That's so funny!! Well, then I got a little distracted when I found a super nice stick to chew on!! It was nearly as long as me and it was nice and crunchy!! I like to have it all, so it was a bit of a challenge to pick up the ball with the stick still in my mouth!! I'm better at a frisbee and a ball!
So, then, that mother, she says,"OK! Time to go in!" Time to go in? Time to go in!!! I just got started! So. I get the bright idea to ignore her altogether and run to the fence where my pal,Ozzy, lives on the other side. Poor guy!! He's stuck behind that fence all the time. Lucky for him, I'm here to bring excitement to his day. And he's there to fulfull this strange urge I have to chase him around. I really like it when I run up and down my side of the fence and convince him to turn and run back with me!! Back and forth, back and forth!! All the while I shout at him;,"Ok, run, run, run, run, turn around, run, run, run, faster!faster!faster!Come on, come on!!!" Mom said something about me being Ozzy's personal trainer, whatever that means. We're just having fun!! So, yeah, Mom kept calling me and I just kept doing what I like to do. Then...she was gone!! I stopped for a second to see if I could hear her, and I heard,"Kismet(that's me!) come and find me!!" Find me!! Oh, yeah, baby, you know I can do that!! So, off I go like a shot and Zap!! I find her right away!! We both had a good laugh at that!! She then said,"Let's go in for a drink" and I thought that might be OK. So, I did!! She gave me one of those yummy chewy things when we got in the house too. It's all good. Now, I'm just hanging with my family. They're kinda funny, in a furless kind of way. Well, gotta go...there's a cat or two that needs chasing....
Woof ya later!

Hey Everybody!!
I'm such a happy fella! My Dad took me for a really fun run last night!! I kinda like it when it's dark-everything smells better! I was extra glad because my family had been out all afternoon and I was a little, well...bored! Even better, this morning Dad took me out for a super long run and it was raining a little!! I love getting muddy and dirty!! It feels great and smells even better. I was a little disappointed to see that garbage day's spills had been all cleaned up!! Oh, well! I saw a few of my doggie friends and chased a few silly birds. My Dad is great!! He runs so far and I love to show him how much faster I can run than him!! Too bad about that two-legged deficit!! Lots of great outdoor smells! When we got home I heard Dad tell my Mom how good I was:) Sometimes I like to run off and not come when they call me. Well, you know, I know where we live, after all! They get so weird about that stuff! Oh, yeah. I had to stay in the kitchen on account of my muddy paws. Mom said something about just cleaning the floors or something. Sheesh! Like, she can clean them again, can't she?! Or not! Who cares!? It doesn't bother me!! Well, it looks like the family is getting ready to head off somewhere, without me, I guess. I think it's a long drive, and I'm not so fond of them. They usually leave me with nice denta-bone to chew on, so that's OK. I'll be glad when they get home though-I really like them. It looks like a good day for a nap--I'm kinda tired from all that running!

Well, first off, I was not too impressed with my Mom. She spent WAY too much time getting those kids ready for whatever it is they do. My Dad took the bigger one and then my Mom took the little one and I thought she forgot about me. I was hungry and I really needed to find a nice patch of grass! Then, she came back and WOW she had her sneakers on, and you know what that means!!! WALK!!! YIPPEEE!! We went out for a super long walk and wonder of wonders, it was GARBAGE DAY!!!! I couldn't believe my luck!! " So," I thought, "That's why breakfast is late...she's taking me out for a buffet!! Yeah!" So, I was all ready for a feast, but, that Mother, she wouldn't let me off the nasty old lead!! Like. What's that about? Sheesh! Well, once we were past all the good stuff she let me run, but, scha! No all you can eat, if you know what I mean. So. It was just a walk-a nice walk, don't get me wrong-but, just a walk. We had turned around to head home when she headed down this little path, and WOW! it went down to the lake! I love the lake!! I ran in fast, excited circles to let her know how happy I was!! She laughed at me and and said she was glad I was happy :) We went closer and closer and I thought I was going to jump to a rock, but, OOPS! I kinda fell in!! It was a little chillier than I'm fond of, and my foot got a bit wedged between two rocks. Mom was on the way in to help me out when I cleverly slipped it out and hopped back on shore. Yep. We skipped on home after that. No buffet on the way home either. You'd almost think she didn't want me to eat refuse...heh, what a minute...maybe...NAH!! I mean, really! Who doesn't like garbage!! At least she dished out the kibble once we got home! After a good morning of barking at the cats ( I just love those guys!) Mom left again and brought the little guy home. I'm so glad it was his lunchtime-he had Scooby-Doo (my hero)pasta and I just love that stuff!! So far, it's been a really great day!! I can't wait to see what they have for supper! That kid is a veritable gold mine of yummy food droppings!! It's two paws up for small humans!!
