Invasion of the moths

Right about Christmas, we started being invaded by moths. They were these tiny things, but there seemed to be hundreds. Mom and dad figure they were attracted to the light and warmth of our back yard outdoor lights that are left on most evenings for Domino & I. We go out to go potty several times during the evening. Mom also wants to keep the coyotes away by having the lights on. We are now turning the lights on and off to see if the silly moths will go away!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom and dad's grandson and his parents and their 2 Boxers visited us for a week over Christmas. The grandson got a Wii from Santa, but everyone had to play. All of us doggies were totally confused by the humans. They would be sitting down, then get up and move around and then sit down again, and repeat endlessly!!!!!!!!!! Enough already!!! Either sit down so we can sit with you or go move around!!!! SHEESH

Some of us doggies got glared at a few times when we got in the way of all this movement!!! Well, excuuuuuuuuuuuse us!!!! We don't know what bowling or golf on Wii is supposed to be. The grandson and his daddy also did the boxing. That got Sam and Gracie going crazy and barking!!!

We did have to snicker and laugh at our humans when they were all stiff the sore the next day after playing Wii all Christmas Day!!!! BOL

Domino, Sam, Gracie & I did love all the great food while they were here. We got snippets of ham, cheese and roast beef. YUMMY YUM YUM

I do have to admit that Domino & I were relieved when Sam and Gracie finally left. It's so nice to get back to our own schedule--and treats!!! heehee

What happened????

Mom took us to the shop today cuz she has to work on a big stained glass commission piece for her biz neighbor. However, the stained glass shop nor the doggie boutique were open to the public. Pooh!!!!! Nobody came to visit. hmmmphhh!!! What fun is it going to the shop for the WHOLE afternoon if nobody comes by????

I heard the biz neighbor out by her SUV and started barking. The neighbor is parking in mom's parking lot. Oh well!!! Anyway, mom decided that she would take Domino & I next door to say "Hi". Thank goodness for that!!!! We always get tons of pets and see all kinds of people over there!!!

But, then we had to come back to the shop. After a while, I was getting bored and was doing my grunting thing. So, mom took me for a quick walk and a potty break. Then it was back inside for mom to work. Sheesh!!! This is BORING, mom!!! Finally we left for the day.

Gee wiz!!! I don't remember the shops being this boring. Maybe I've gotten used to being at home now and have forgotten?!?!?! BOL

Daddy pulled a trick on me!

This evening I followed daddy to the bathroom. He is not as comfortable as mom about Domino & I being in there with him. heeheeee I guess he doesn't like being stared at--face to face. So, he decided to trick me. He went over to the bath tub and turned on the water. I was outta there like a shot out of a canon!!! NO NO NO I just had a bath the night before!!!!! Daddy chuckled later as he told mom about it. Mean daddy!!! I don't know if I like Halloween tricks.

I got back at daddy though. I did NOT cooperate well later when he was trying to take some pictures of Domino & I. Dumb cluck Domino was a good boy, but not me. hmmmphhhh!!!

Daddy rewarded Domino with treats for being a good boy in front of the camera. Sheesh!!! I guess I'm supposed to put up with tricks AND the camera to get treats. Daddy says my bad behavior is coming back to haunt me. Oooo, you better watch out on Halloween, daddy!!!

New track

Mom and dad noticed last night when they came back from an outing that most of the lights were NOT on at the Fairgrounds parking lot. They didn't know if that would be the case from now on. Turn out, yes. hmmmphhh

We all drove over to the Fairgrounds for our nightly walk and exercise. I was getting all excited cuz I KNEW where we were. I enjoy the walks and I LUV riding in the stroller. Welllll, the van didn't stop. What's up with this??????

Mom suggested another parking lot that should be lit and not busy, so we headed in that direction. We found a much closer one, however. YEA!!! It was great cuz Domino & I had new smells to sniff!!! Dad and mom like it cuz it's better lit and the lot is much smoother. However, the lot may fill up with employees as the holidays get closer. BOL The parking lot is for a call center for 1 800 Flowers, Plow & Hearth, and some other related mail order businesses. Oh well, we may just move around to various parking lots for a change of scenery now and then!!!!! heehee

I did a "yak" in mom's van

Domino has been suffering from blocked Eustachian tubes for the past several days. Even though mom or dad give him an antihistamine, he sometimes barfs up yellow bile stuff. YUCK!!! He's been getting baths or face washes frequently. BOL

Today mom put both Domino & I in the van to make a short drive to our store to check on things. I made some high-pitched yike yikes as we came to the stop sign at the end of our road. Mom wondered what the heck was wrong with me. I seemed to be okay in a few seconds, so she drove on. Well, after riding along for a little while over bumpy streets, I got sick and yaked all over the front passenger door. Oooops!!! I'm sorry, mommy, but I couldn't help it!!!! Mom told me that I obviously have the same condition as Domino, which mom is also suffering from. I think our allergies are kicking up with all the weeds from all the rain and humidity we've had this summer. Feeling dizzy and then riding in a vehicle made me nauseous!!

Anyhoo, mom drove carefully to the store and cleaned up the mess and wiped my face. We didn't stay long and then she drove us carefully back home. Ahhhhh solid ground and my house!!!

Unfortunately I had to have a bath fairly soon as mom said I smelled really bad. hmmmppphhh I also am now taking antihistamines. I hope the allergy season stops soon!!!

I guess we must have walked a lot slower with our little friends the other day than we did with mom this evening. Mom wasn't even doing "fitness" walking she said. Uh Oh

She said she is going to have to get us in shape to go walking for good exercise for dad and her in the coming days. Maybe she should just put us in the stroller for part of the walk. Yeah!!! That's the ticket!!! We have very very short legs, mom!!!

Well, I guess we'll have to keep up our diary for the family fitness regimen!!! BOL

We went for a visit today

Mom and dad were going to drive 1 1/2 hours away to meet mom's sister and her husband for a visit and then dinner out. Since they would be gone more than 6 hours (they thought), they didn't want to leave Domino & I home alone for that long, especially as we can't get outside to go potty and we don't use pads inside.

They arranged for us to go over to a former employee of Dad's who is also a friend to both mom and dad. This lady has a boy in high school, a boy in grade school, and a little girl who celebrated her 4th birthday today. A lot of front "yards" in our state have gravel/rock landscaping. I peed a teeny bit before going in the house, but evidently not enough. Mom was so so embarrassed cuz I peed on the wood floor as soon as I got in the house. I guess I didn't feel the outside was really the place to do my business!!!!

After we were there a bit, mom took Domino & I out to the back yard where they had lots of nice green grass. Ahhhhhhhhh perfect!!! We both ran around and peed and ran and ran and then pooped!!! heehee

We got to help Madysen celebrate her 4th birthday today!!! Mom doesn't know, but suspects that we got some cake, and maybe ice cream, and who knows what else people-type food. I didn't want my dinner!

The kids didn't want us to go home. heehee Anyway, they may come over and take us for a walk in our neighborhood tomorrow evening. WooHoo Mom did say she would go along in case the BIG rottweiler, who doesn't seem to be on a leash or with people some of the time, is around to bother any of us.

Can't wait to see the kids again. I've really missed seeing people now that our shop isn't open.

The picnic wore us out!!!

Daddy's work had a picnic for all the employees and their families. As part of the administration, daddy had to sign up to grill from 11-11:30 am. Mom put on our light-weight mesh harnesses and took our visors and leads and wet-ones and our bigger stroller. We all went together to the park. Daddy had to hurry over to do his stint at the grills, so mom loaded us up in the stroller with all our stuff.

It looked like there were a bunch of stairs up to the pavilion, so mom rolled us along the street in the grass. When she got to the pavilion, she noticed that she could have by-passed the stairs. SHEESH!!!

Anyway, there were lots of lots of people who thought Domino & I were soooooooooo CUTE!!!! Most of them thought it was strange to see dogs in a stroller though. Believe me, NM and, especially Alamogordo, are way behind the east and west coasts on strollers for dogs and other fancy dog stuff!!!!

Domino & I both hopped out of the stroller right away when we actually stopped by all the people. Mom wasn't too thrilled with us, but she just put us on our leads. Then we both decided to do our daily constitutionals. BOL I often do mine in the morning, but Domino doesn't. Mom had to go back to the stroller (by daddy) to get the poo bags.

Many people petted us, but we just sat or laid by mom at a picnic table. We got to meet a Miniature Schnauzer girl, who was also very well behaved. We didn't meet the Black Lab who came later, but that doggie took his/her water bottle to the trash!!! heehee

It lightly rained off and on most of the time we were there, so mom didn't really want us walking around in the grass and getting wet feet--or, worse, muddy. It was hot and humid at first, but when the rain came, it got cooler! WHEW!!!

Because it was raining quite a bit and the grills were NOT covered, daddy stayed to the end. The men didn't care if they got wet (unlike the ladies), so did most of the grill shifts. I don't know if the ladies helped other places or not.

Mom gave us a hot dog to share while she ate her hamburger. YUMMY!!! I think we could have eaten another, but mom was afraid that even one was going to make us gassy later. BOL

We were pooped by 1:00 pm, so mom put us in our stroller to nap. That way we weren't in people's way and not lying in wet spots on the concrete either. Finally, at 2 pm the picnic was over and we got to go home for a really good nap. heehee
