Hello everyone! I need your help on something for my dear friend. Mica-the Wonderpup is doing some fundraising for IMHA Research. IMHA stands for Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. It is to help manage the disease, including prevention, and ultimately to find a cure to what gave Mica her wings way too soon.

What is really important to us, is that everytime Mica's page gets seen, there is one more dog out there who will recognize this silent killer. My friend has been written to several times in & outside Dogster by people who knew nothing of this disease & they say seeing her page actually saved their dog's life! I am sure my beautiful pal is very happy about that!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here’s how you can help:
Be a pal and corral MICA and her pack.
MICA MUST be corralled for a donation to stick.
If someone chooses Mirra, or The Purple Girls Of Oregon (TPGOO) without Mica, it won’t count. With each new corral Mica’s IMHA Research Fund gets a small donation. A bonus comes if Mirra and TPGOO are also selected.
Kind of a good, better, best scenario.
The best part for this research comes later.
This came about because in May both girls have Woofdays, as a sort of celebration of their lives and Mica’s work. Mica’s on 10 May, would be her 11th. Mirra’s very 1st comes 30 May, 2008. Let's make this a Woofday they will Remember Forever!
The tally of the number of corrals MICA has on 31 May 2008, after Mirra's Woofday, means A DOLLAR for EVERY CORRAL! Most simply put, IF the total, for example is 1000 corrals, then MICA'S IMHA FUND gets 1000 dollars. These donations will be from the same kindhearted GSD who raced her last fall. It was a close race and Mica lost at the 11th hour in corrals. This Special GSD & his owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, believes so much in Mica's cause, IMHA research & K9 Blood donations. It is close to their hearts as he lost a fellow K9 Officer to IMHA.
It’s for a good cause folks. This disease may not be well known, but it is the LEADING BLOOD DISEASE in both dogs and cats & second only to thyroid disease for immune system illness. We want to help them get the word out about this to help others. So, PLEASE, do what you can. A simple click of a mouse may help save a life!
♥Thank You♥!
Please pawmail Mica if you are interested in making a donation to this cause. Even a dollar at a time will help.
My dear friend, Rudy, has Springtime Tagged Me and also my dear friends, the purple girls of Oregon!
Well, here goes....
My four jobs,
1) making sure daddy gets plenty of exercise with lots of walks!
2) cleaning the floor of all edible tidbits .....
3) barking, when necessary, to warn strangers I am on the job
4) making our neighborhood friendlier by visiting the other pups
Places I've lived:
1) I was born to a nice home, with brothers and sisters
2) Our first apartment, lots of kids would come and play with me, they still visit on Sundays
3) Our new apartment - it is very nice, and we like it
4) Petsmart Hotel - when Daddy has business trips, they are good to me
Places I've been:
1) Many car rides all over the place!
2) To my daddy's friend's houses
3) To the dogparks
4) To watch daddy play softball, I'm sort of the Mascot - picture on my page of us
Places I would like to go to:
1) I would love to visit Rocky, in the winter, and play in the snow in Buffalo
2) It would be great to go all over the place and meet my Dogster friends!
3) Anywhere Daddy goes, I want to go
4) Home is the best best place of all!
not so very good news today... Sent: Thu Mar 20
Ok, so today I celebrated my One Year Survival from the Menu Foods poisoning. HooRah! But, today brings not so very good news too...
I am quickly losing what remaining sight in my good eye. I'm just not seeing well at all out of it over this past week, and every day it seems to be worse and worse. I actually walked myself into a small opening between the couch and the bookcase...just wide enough for my head to fit...and I just stood there and barked up against the wall.
And my blind left eye? Ozzy got me in that eye several months ago, and we thought everything had healed without any infection. Well, it now appears that blind eye has just up and died... the whites have turned black and the whole thing seems to be reducing in size. Wow... what a shock that was for Mum, because I always fight her putting eye drops in that eye and I scrunch my lids up real tight so she never got a real good look at the whole eye until yesterday. Major freak out!!!!!!
I have vet appointment and will probably be referred to a canine eye specialist. Mum thinks I will probably lose the left eye, but that eye has been blind since before Mum adopted me 4 years ago. And the eyelashes scratch me and it's always gunked-up, so having it out will probably make me more comfortable. We'll have to wait to hear what the eye doc says.
Mum went online and it seems that blind dogs do pretty well because dogs rely so much on their sense of smell. And if any bully can take a lickin' and keep on tickin', it's certainly me! So, positive vibes, good karma, power of the paw and all that jazz...
