Birthday: April 11th 2004 Likes: Did someone say tennis balls? Pet-Peeves: Being pet by strangers & being on top of Haleakala, brrr too cold Favorite Toy: Tennis Balls, Tennis Balls and Tennis Balls oh yeah and coconuts Favorite Food: bacon, did someone say bacon? Favorite Walk: Polipoli State Park, Pukalani Park & at the beach Best Tricks: Find it and Stick em Up! Arrival Story: My husband and I were on our way to the beach and decided to stop by the shelter, 'just to look'. I was drawn to Scout's (Stanley at the time) cage immediately. He was in the front just waiting and sat while I pet him behind the ears. I didn't move from his side. I never saw any of the other dogs that day. My husband told me to come look and I said no. This was our dog. I knew it in my heart. He was home with us with in the week. Bio: Scout was a stray from Waiehu. The Maui Humane Society picked him up when he was four months old. He lived at the shelter for two whole months. When we adopted him he was 36lbs. His paws were HUGE. We should have known he would be a big guy. We were sure he had topped out at 55lbs. You can imagine our surprise when at a year the vet told us 75lbs!
We are pretty sure Scout is an pointer something mix, though the DNA results aren't in yet. We did run into his brothers at the beach once. One was Scout's twin and the other looked totally lab. Whatever he is, he's ours and we love him. Forums Motto:
I'm so luck to live Hawai'i, but now I'm super lucky to live Hawai'i because it got me awarded Dog of the Week! What an awesome honor! My family has been sooooo super busy so this came at the right time. I'm getting all the attention now!
I'm off to go write lots n lots of thank you notes. Just in case I forget one, Thanks Everypuppy!
