Arrival Story: Along with Honey, I found Jojo @ Petfinder.com, from the Ohio Toy Breed Rescue. She was a breeding dog, kept with over 80 other Poms in less then ideal conditions. When the breeder passed away, her family was left to deal with all the dogs. Jojo and Honey were one of the few best out of the bunch rescued. Some even had to be put down because their health was so poor. Jojo isn't skittish, but can be shy with new people. When I first adopted her, I was a new people, so she would just stare at me. That stare unnerved me at first. But slowly, a spark started to show in that stare and it became a soft light as Jojo realized she was finally Home and I wasn't going to keep her in a cage and she was loved. She became my shadow.

Bio: Now, more than two years after I adopted her, Jojo still wants to be everywhere I am. When I come home from work, she runs in circles and spins, so happy that I'm home. If I'm not home at my usual time, she sits and waits by the door until I come home. If I sit down, she climbs into my lap and if I stop petting her, she will start nudging my hand for more attention. When I go to bed, she sleeps on my big king-sized pillow next to my head. Her unconditional love and affection make every day a good day.
Over the course of the past two years, we realized that Jojo's teeth were in bad shape. We tried to do what we could, but the damage had been done. She now only has one lonely tooth left. But she is much happier and has coped with the lack of teeth. About the same time, we discovered that Jojo is hypothyridic. After she recovered from the extractions and was on her new medicine, we noticed a wonderful change in Jojo! She still loves to snuggle and be my shadow, but she's so much more playful and energetic. She actually plays with her sister, Honey. They will chase each other the house occasionally or outside in the yard. However, Jojo hates her other sister, Dorito Chip. She growls anytime the cat comes near her. So far, the cat has given Jojo her space.
Jojo has more gray in her face and body then she did two years ago, but she's still the same sweet little girl. She sleeps by me at night and is always by my side.
