The couch, the cool tile on hot summer days, basking in the sun, wading in the pool, food, attention, trips to the dog park, and most of all, babies of any species. She's been a surrogate Mom several times to abandoned litters, producing milk anytime we a

When people pass her by without giving her attention, getting scolded for stealing food from the kitchen counter (that's her only bad habit), and not being allowed to steal other dog's puppies.

Favorite Toy:
She's not really into toys but likes to play with her food. :)

Favorite Food:
If she HAD to choose, probably cheese or chicken or beef or Natural Balance Food Roll or maybe chicken jerky tenders. Although, we recently learned that she LOVES tuna fish.

Favorite Walk:
Bull Creek & Red Bud Isle Dog Parks.

Best Tricks:
Nautica is a VERY stubborn dog but responds to most commands if given by a female with food or a male.

Arrival Story:
Nautica joined the pack on November 27, 2003. We made a 12 hour, 800 mile round trip to pick her up on Thanksgiving Day. It was the day after receiving a call from her (now previous) owner that she had been safely recovered. Three month earlier, Nautica's previous owner had place her and her brother in the care of a relative. They were stolen from her backyard. Nautica had already been promised to me and we had already waited two years for her, my first show dog. We hired a private investigator, searched ads, and posted pleas for her and her brother return in every imaginable place. Hope was lost as time passed. Finally, someone mentioned to Nautica's previous owner that he had seen a dog that reminded him of Nautica in someone's front yard. The neighborhood was immediatley searched and incredibly Nautica was found in someone's yard. The resident had apparently purchased her from an unknown man some time ago. He willingly returned Natica but offered no information about the dog napper(s) and the whereabouts of her brother who remains missing. Still, we were most thankful for Nautica's return that Thanksgiving Day. Nautica was close to her championship when she joined the pack. We never had the chance to finish her. The previous owner failed to send us her registration papers as promised, even after we filed a lawsuit (still pending). Regardless of the outcome, we adore Nautica and she will remain in our pack.
