Yes, pups. It's the cancer. Looks like I'm going to lose my leg. But I'll still be here!! Three legs are better than none! Thank you all again for all you love and thoughtfulness. We're going to need it in the upcoming weeks. Love to you all!

Oh Jarvis we are so sorry to hear that. But if you are going to lose your leg, that means it hasn't spread - so that is very good news. Look at all the extra treatses you are going to get!!!
We love you Jarvis and Amy. Let us know if you need anything - we are usually around..

Big hugs.

Jarvis, I have a number of friends that are living happy lives with three legs. I'm sure that you have a few as well. If you want to talk to any, I can pass them along to you.

I'm sure they'd be happy to share a few tales.

As harsh as losing a leg sounds it is really good news because it means the cancer has not spread. We too know a number of very happy tripods and a three legged life is not that bad at all. We will keep you in our prayers and if there is anything you need or you just want to talk we are here for you.
Hugs

Sending hugs, and we are sending more prayers as you go forward. You will be just as handsome with three legs as with four.

Yep, my mama had a room mate years ago who had a 3 legged Shar Pei. Just don't tell him he only had 3 legs!! :o) He was super strong too. Built them muscles up in the remaining three. Sending you loving and comforting hugs.

Jarvis, we are SO very sad to hear that but don't be scared, your Mom will take great care of you and I hear it's not too hard for us dogs to walk on 3 legs and because we don't get embarrassed like humans, we don't think too much about what we look like and just go about our business. Like the others have said, if taking the leg is the outcome, then sounds as if it might not have had time to spread anywhere else which is fabulous. We know this will be hard for your family, but they will just be so thankful to still have you.

You're still a good looking little boy Jarvis. We don't care how many legs you have so long as the doctors get that disease so you can live a very long and happy life with your pawrents. We're keeping our paws crossed for you.

Okay buddy---pay attention here.....VERY IMPORTANT!

PAIN MEDICATION!

Make SURE your vet understands that we feel pain, and to properly medicate you for it after your surgery. My PERSONAL pics are Tramadol, Metacam, or Deramax....Tramadol makes me drool....but it SURE kills the pain!

Don't be brave...TAKE IT! You HEAL faster if you aren't in pain...pain makes your body produce cortisol whichis BAD!

So be SURE and get some pain meds!

UR in my prayers, buddy! LOVE YA!

Jarvis the Big Brown Menacing Tripod- yeah, that works. It will be one heck of an adjustment, but you can do it, Big Dog! And you'll still be around- that's the best part.

Supportive smooch,
Chester

Jarvis - We are so sorry. I know, you've heard this alot. I agree with the others that at least it hasn't spread and you will do just GREAT with 3 legs! You will be here forever!

May God watch over you and Have a Blessed Weekend!

Oh, dear.
We were hoping for other news...
But, to echo the others: 3 legs do well enough for a pup and you are fit so the adjustment should go just fine.
Hugs to you and your furmily!

When I was a younger pup, I knew an old gal and she had 3 legs, and she ran with the biggest and fastest pups at the dog park...and don't tell her that something was different.
