Likes: Walking on the island and swimming in the Gulf

Pet-Peeves: A rainy day with no walk

Favorite Toy: Wooly Bear

Favorite Food: Chicken

Favorite Walk: Through the downtown area to the beach

Best Tricks: Fetching the toy asked for

Arrival Story: I was doing a private duty case as an RN. The family owned the female Boxer. The neighbor lab came visiting and I saw the conception taking place, but by the time the owner got out to the yard....puppies were on the way and I was given pick of the litter. Holly is THEE most special dog I've ever had.

Bio: Bright, intelligent, loves simply being with my husband and I and truly enjoys the moments of life, that most humans seem to ignore.
UPDATE: After a brave bout with lymphoma....diagnosed Jan. 31, 2007, Holly lost her battle on May 9, 2007. She had done SO well on the chemo and was in remission. But the end came fast....an ultrasound revealed cancer was all through her and there was no hope. We had to lovingly and heartbreakingly let her go and pass over to the Rainbow Bridge. We couldn't let her suffer. She didn't deserve that. So we held her in our arms and she peacefully passed over.
What a special girl she was! Terribly missed by mom, dad, Duncan and the cats.

Woof to everyone,
Mom and I haven't been here since last September to post an entry!
Lots has happened....both good and bad.
On November 10 we lost Angus, our 13 1/2 year old Scottish Fold cat. I loved Angus and I could see he was very sick at the end. But it didn't make it any easier. The nice thing is, he's buried in our yard and even has a nice marble stone with his name and date of birth and death. But all of us missed him an awful lot.
Our vet told us about a nice lady that had kittens that needed a home. We were only going to take one....but they were twin brothers and mom couldn't separate them. So we took Ralph and Foster home.....they were almost 3 months then and now they're almost 9 months. Pure black and they're SO sweet. They thought "I" was their mom....and even now, they curl up next to me and purr.
And THEN.....guess what dad got mom for her birthday in March? A Scottish Terrier puppy. Duncan came to live with us on March 19 at 6 weeks old. He's a handful, but I sure do enjoy him. And the breeder was right....Scotties aren't pansy dogs! They're a LOT of dog in a small package. We love to romp and play in the yard together. I adore the cats, but it's a lotta fun having another canine to play with. And now Duncan will enjoy this island life as much as I do. He loves riding around in the golf cart, going to the beach and everyone downtown oooohing and aaaaahing over him. But I don't feel left out at all......I'm not the jealous type. Besides mom always whispers to me, "I love you best."
I hope all of you have been good. I'll try to get back here sooner. Duncan now has his page, so I imagine he'll have something to say soon.
Doggie hugs and kisses to everyone.

Both Mom and I are so sad to watch the news about all the displaced dogs from Katrina. It breaks our hearts. Mom did donate last week to the New Orleans SPCA, but she wishes she could do more.
Does anyone know what the site or link might be for adopting dogs who no longer have their owners? I've been wanting a new brother or sister for awhile and Mom said maybe now is the time to do it....by giving a sweet dog a great home. She just can't seem to find out how to go about doing this. Thanks for any help.
It's a very sad time right now and I'm very grateful to be safe and with my family.
Doggies kisses and hugs to all my pals.

Hi to all my doggy pals,
Mom's been busy and hasn't let me get on here all day.
I just wanted to say hello and make sure everyone was doing good.
It's just been so darn hot here! Makes a doggy wish she were living in Alaska right about now.
But winter will arrive.....and in Florida, that's the best time of the year for us doggies.
So everyone stay cool and I'll see you soon.
