Havent visited here in over 4 yrs!
Rascal is the big 7 today! Whew what a fun 7 years. He had such a rocky beginning. And now I can say he is the most perfect dog in the world. He has a wonderful step brother which he loves to death. Has decided fence jumping isn't fun anymore. And is my most reliable dog when it comes to people and new dogs.
Im so glad I took the time to help him be the best he could be! Happy birthday Rascal.. Thank you for being the greatest friend I'll ever have!

Well havent wrote anything in a while, but i have to say rascal is a new dog, and I love him! When he was young he had a pretty scary case of fear agression, and i was worried he wouldn't be the dog i hoped him to be. Well needless to say, we now go to the dog park, the petstore, just about anywhere, and he is absolutely perfect!! Im glad i finally have a dog i can do dogs things with, my last was a brat, and it was not possible. So dog owners don't give up on your dog. Work with them, train them, and teach them to trust you! Its well worth it!

I would have never lived by shock/training collars before but this is ausoume, not only can he be trusted not to chase things/leading him over our fence. But not he can be off a leash almost anywhere and stay right by my side. That is a drastic improvement. Its just funny because he knew every command he was ever taught just refused to do them because no punishment seemed to horrible to him not to do anything again. So if anyone has that problem and if youve tried everything else it is well worth it!!!

Well saturday will be the day to test what rascal will put up with. He is going to be trained on a shock collar, just because he is so resilant at that darn fence and since it is squirell season jumping the fence is the number 1 hobby right now. so hopefully we get some improvement after that

Have no fear of west nile virus. Just sit outside with rascal and you will be bug free hence Rascal "bugs, BUGS BUGS!! must eat them all. " I was sitting in a field around night time and wasn't getting eaten up a bit and then I noticed the dogs were so we left. But at least I don't have to worry about bug bites.

Rascal has been an excellent puppy. He is now 11 months old. He has put mommy through some fun challenges. nothing really started until he was about 6 months old.

First, he was afraid of all stranger dogs, he took his first visit to the dog park which i thought would be his last he was so terrified he was bitting growling snapping at other the other dogs he just wanted to humans to protect him.

But finally he is adjusted and loves going there.

New dilema scared of stranger people. Have been working on that but I think it is improving.

Another dilema, Loves anything plastic. Almost had an emergency vet visit because he got an aleve bottle.

Loves paper, don't leave your bills laying around he'll eat them

Last and most annoying problem, he jumps the fence. After he learned from another foster dog jumping the fence WAS his most favorite pastime.

But overall rascal is an excellent dog. He is calm in the house he listens well, crates well, walks very nice on a leash. Rascal is always the welcoming dog for our new fosters, he is the more friendly one out of the two.
