Been Sick :(

Well, I haven't been feeling too well. The doctors say that I have an auto-immune disorder. My joints hurt and my skin has gotten really dry and I have some skin boo-boos that are making me lose some hair. My mom and dad don't want to give me steroids, so they've been giving me some Omega 3 supplements and Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplements as well. They're helping a lot. Hopefully I'll get 100% better, but we'll have to keep a close eye on things. Otherwise, I'm doing OK. I've been feeling good enough to start playing with Lilith and Dracula again. Well, I'll report on any changes. Later...

Last night, mom took me out on a ghost hunt with she's been hanging out with the group, looking for paranormal stuff. I got to come along because they were at the Presidio outside and they wanted to see if I could sense any ghosts. Well, I don't think that I saw any last night, but I was the star of the show. All the viewers loved me and I was a really good boy. I think that I may be the first ghost hunting dog on a ghost hunting show. I'm so friggin' famous.

A New Sister

Well, I didn't think that they would do it, but I'm getting ANOTHER sister. I really do like other dogs, so I'm not worried about getting along with her, but the thing is... she's not a CHOW. I know, right? Who knew that the 'rents would get anything but another chow? Well, I suppose that when my mom and dad finally get around to buying that big castle, we'll have more chow brothers and sisters, but until then, they have to scale down the next dog. We don't exactly live in a huge house, but we do have a nice big backyard and we get to go on walks at the ocean and the lake and the park and the dog park. Well talk about scaling down... our new sissy is going to be a FRENCH BULLDOG. They're cute but so... I dunno... almost bald. They have no fluff at all. It's so weird. I'm sure that I'll still love her, but I hope she gets a parka for the winter. Especially if we go to Lake Tahoe again. I love that place. Anyhow, I'll check back later when the new baby arrives.

Saying Hi

It's been a while since I wrote in my diary. Not much has been going on... Mom got a new job and she's home a LOT more than she used to be, which is really great. I've been a really good boy lately... except on Thanksgiving, Mom was going into the grocery store to get some last minute stuff while Dad and Lilith and I waited in the car. Well, I wanted to be with Mom, so when Dad wasn't looking, I jumped out of the car and ran up to Mom. I wasn't supposed to do that. Why can't I go in the store? I'm cleaner than a whole lot of people I see around and I won't break stuff or cry like those weird creatures called "children" do. Ho hum. Well outside of that, the weather's been nice and my birthday last month was pretty cool. I got my annual special birthday dinner: steak and blue cheese. Yum!

My Tail of Devotion for Loki

My Dearest Loki Boo-Boo Dog,

Nobody but me quite understands you. Everyone comments on how beautiful you are, how well you play with other doggies, how cool your sweet moves look when your running free at Stern Grove---and how you don't really warm up to anyone like you did with me. I guess some might say that you're a bit of a problem child, but we're all still learning, and Beverly is helping us. You still get so excited when your auntie, Tolithia, comes to visit us, so I know that you remember the people that love you. Your dad and I love you and you know that. You came to me when I really needed you, when I was sick. All my hair had fallen out and I had to sleep a lot. You protected me when you were only a little puppy. You would sit next to the couch where I would be, and if you heard any noises outside or there was an evil kitty cat lurking outside, you would woof at the big picture window until it was safe for me. When you would get agitated, all I would have to do is give you a hug and it was all better. We took care of each other and we still do. Sometimes, I look in your brown eyes and I think that you want to be able to say something to me, but you don't need to. I know that you love me and that you're my little man. Loki, you're one of the brightest lights in my life and you'll always be special to me in a way that no one else will be: my first dog, my little knight in fluffy armor, my little friend.

Well, my little sister finally came home. She's pretty cute. We already have lots of fun playing together outside. She's pretty spunky. She likes to bite at my ankles and pull my tail! She's a total daddy's girl...she's always snoozing in his lap. Anyhow, gotta get back to playing!

My Birthday

Well, my birthday was last tuesday. I am two years old now. I got a special birthday dinner that I shared with mom and dad--New York steak from Whole Foods. It was GREAT. Mom and dad feed me good food anyhow from the special pet store, so I eat really healthy all the time. But steak is good stuff. Speaking of birthdays, I think mom finally found my sister. She has the same birthday as me (October 25) so it seems like it is meant to be. Of course she is blue so she will go with my crazy mom's color scheme. I can't wait. In the meantime, I'll be getting ready for a turkey dinner later this month.

I'm Getting A Sister

Mom told me today that I'm going to get a baby sister soon. She's looking for a chow chow that is the same color as me or maybe blue. Mom said that she wants her babies to match, just like Martha Stewart's--Martha has five black horses, some black sheep, a black french bulldog---you get the idea. I think my mom's crazy, but she loves me so much. I think it's a pretty good idea for mom and dad to get a baby so I can teach her everything I know from the very start. I'm pretty excited. I have so much fun when cousin Frieda comes over to play, but I get sad when she leaves, so it will be great to have a sister here all the time.

Jail Break

Mom and Dad thought they could tell me what to do. They thought that they could keep me confined with those stupid baby gates. They even bought the biggest ones. But I got out. They couldn't understand how I did it. They figured I was climbing over. BZZZZT, WRONG. I jump. I don't even take a running start. If I could dribble a basketball, I'd be in the NBA and I'd punk Shaq. They're going to have to get some solid steel doors and put the doorknobs like 5 feet off the ground, 'cause I know how those things work and that's the next thing I'm going to figure out. It's hard without opposable thumbs, though. In the meantime, I can go wherever I want now and there's nothing Mom and Dad can do about it. But I still love them.
