Back to Chasing Ellie Again

Sorry for not updating sooner, but mommie still does not have a computer and probably won't until she pays all my vet bills. bol

I am doing great now and did NOT need surgery afterall. The discs were NOT herniated as originally thought, just "swollen" so the meds worked along with some temporary restricted activity and extra TLC. Watch out Ellie ... here I come. Yipee!!!!

UH OOOOOHHHHH, I was Injured while I was Missing!!!!

The day after I got home, off to the vet we went.

Good news:
I am safe. I am home. I do not have heartworms. They even tested for the baby fila and it was negative so I’m back on HW preventatives. Also, I lost less than half a pound over the 8 weeks while I was missing, so someone MUST have been feeding me well most of that time.

Now for the Bad News:
I was walking a little strange, but mommy thought it was probably my old arthritic knees. Nope, the vet said my patellas were just fine, but when she checked down my spine.... UH OHHHHH! X-rays confirmed 2 HERNIATED DISCS in my back with at least one possibly ruptured. The vet thinks someone probably hit me, but we may never know what really happened? The elderly couple that saved me said that I was dragging one of my legs the day they found me. I still have movement and feeling in my back legs so I started on antibiotics and steroids last week. Problem is I keep throwing up and not eating much, but I AM still drinking alot. Mommy is very worried and just does not want me to be in ANY pain. I have to be careful not to jump up or down from anything. I cannot even chase Ellie (actually, I have not really felt up to it). If I loose the feeling in my leg(s), then I will need emergency surgery within 24 hours. If the steroids do not help, then I may need further tests and surgery any way.

Please, keep sending prayers and Power of the Paw. I need ANOTHER miracle!

note from Bailey’s typist Thurs May 8: B’s mom still does not have a computer. she stopped vomitting after Sun and is eating a little more now. one week follow-up is tomorrow. will post updates soon.

I am HOME and SAFE!!!!!!!

Mommy just picked me up and called my typist immediately. I was found yesterday by a nice elderly couple. The story is that I was wandering around a neighborhood about 4 miles away from home. The couple saw mom's ad in the newspaper and called today. I was in good shape and may have only lost one pound at the most so mommy thinks I must have been with some other people before yesterday (she has her suspicions).

Anyway, I'm not EVER leaving mommy's side ever again. Life could not be better. I'm back to annoying Ellie and even pooping on the floor, but mom is loving every minute of it! Tomorrow I will get a vet check and restart my heartworm preventatives. Mom also mentioned fleas and b-a-t-h, OH MY!!! I don’t care as long as I get to be home with mommy and Ellie.

HELP, I am Lost!!!!

Mommy does not have a computer right now, so she had a friend write this for me. Our friend lives in a different state, but will post updates here as soon as there is any news. WHEN I am found, my name and main picture will change too. See most current updates at the bottom of this diary entry.

We just moved a few weeks ago from Columbia, MD to Pensacola, FL 32505. Some guys were fixing our new house and I ESCAPED on March 5th. I am scared, confused, and do not know how to get back home! Can you please help me???

I went missing from the Marcus Lake area near Mobile Hwy and Massachusetts. Some people think I am big for a Chihuahua because I weigh 10 pounds, but really I am a standard purebred - whitish cream or very light fawn with a liver colored nose. My Banfield ISO microchip can be felt over my right shoulder, but I was not wearing any collar or tags.

Here’s a little bit about Mommy:
She is the best in the whole world! She is a disabled veteran because she got hurt in Desert Storm and Iraq. Things have been really tough on her lately especially with the big move. We have been together through everything for 12 years. Many dogsters know we fight for animal rights and help save dogs (especially pit bulls) all across the country and even into Canada. Right now mommy is sick with worry about me. Her heart is breaking! Ellie misses me too and lies in bed with her head on the window sill looking for me EVERY night. Neither one of them can get much sleep.

PLEASE HELP ME BE REUNITED WITH MY FAMILY!

The Search so far:
Mommy has been working day and night to find me even when she is in severe pain. Flyers are in EVERY neighbors' mail box including surrounding subdivisions, stores, businesses, etc. The nice mail man has been a great help. For the first 2 days, a number of people called saying they had seen me. No more sitings in the last few days, so please pray that I am safe! Friends have put me on many websites and emailed rescues. They are trying to get my flyer to as many vet offices as possible, but we still need help with that - most vets do not have an email address. If you don’t mind, could you please make sure that your vets know about me? I’m an older girl with a few surgery scars, but they can find my family by simply feeling or scanning for my microchip. Mommy has been going to the county shelter almost every day.

We need as many eyes and ears as possible to be on constant lookout.

I WANT TO GO HOME!!!!!


Update Wed March 12:
Last night and at 8:30 this morning there were 3 calls about “possible” sitings in MAYFIELD. Bailey’s mom and Ellie searched last night into the early morning, then again ALL day today. B’s mom says, “I can use all the help I can get! I'm exhausted searching from 9am to almost midnight everyday!” ... Thank you, Thank you for everything!!! ... Please pray, the more to Gods ear the better!”

Update Wed March 26:
Bailey is STILL missing. Her mom will NOT give up and continues to search day and night! Friends continue to watch online sites and cross post to anyone they can think of. Today is Bailey's birthday. She is 12 years old. Please pray that someone has her and will do the right thing and return her to her family ASAP!

Update Thurs March 27:
Bailey's mom got a good lead! A man called today and is pretty sure his friend picked up Bailey weeks ago, not too far from where she lives. We believe he gave her to a nice lady in Perdido Key, FL/ Orange Beach, AL area. She already has 2 or 3 other Chi's. The lady may not know that Bailey is missing, so we're trying to spread the word and get flyers up in that area.

EVERYTHING CROSSED waiting for the man's friend to call ASAP.
We have already called the only 2 vets in Orange Beach to be on the look out.
If anyone is available AT ANY TIME (even just an hour) to help B’s mom search and post more flyers, please call her directly. EVERY set of eyes will help. Thank you!!!

wait a minute Treats for no reason,Warm towels, and dogggie- perfume! OH NO BATH DAY!!!!

Why is mommy putting dry clean towels back into the dryer? Is that water I hear running? Wait do I smell that doggie perfume? Something is up! Well I'm no fool. I'm out of here!!! Under the couch I go!!! Watch this the things they do to get me out from hiding!!! He he he! My sister Hilly tried shaking the house keys and say we were going to the car, but I know she is fooling me because mommy doesn't have on her outside shoes. There she goes getting my leash and saying we are going for a walk, but I know that is wrong too because I don't hear mommy telling her to take me for a walk. Ha they thought they could fool me! I know it is bath time and I want no part of it!!!!

But then I hear my favorite word in the world. TREAT!!!!! For me a treat?
Oh yeah treat for me!!! Ok I just pop out and grad it!!! OH NO!!!!! They got me again!
Why do I always let that one get me. The treat never fails!!!!!!! mommy says my tummy rules me and I think she is right because when I hear the word treat, I forget everything and become a zombie. My tummy is like a remote control and the word treat activates it and it takes total control over my body!!!My brain says no no it is a trick but my tummy makes my body go and get the treat everytime!!!

I think mommy had me hypnotized when I was a little princess (now I'm the Queen) and the word treat makes me follow her every command!!! I wonder if other doggies have to go threw everything I do to get a treat, and do they become zombies too?

OH well as I was saying, a bath for me today. All in all it wasn't that bad!!! I managed to save some dignity when mommy ran out of that doggy perfume she usually puts on me!!!
Boy Ellie sure smelled like it though!!!!!!!! They call Ellie stinky allot of times and to me she usually smells fine but boy after that perfume bath she got she sure stunk up the place.
She is running all around the house and rolling all over the carpet trying to get that funny weird smell off of her. HA Ha ha ha He he look at Ellie everyone isn't she funny!!! Ellie girl your so crazy!!!!!

Oh Oh I'm next!!!! Oh no I gotta smell like that??? On no!!!!

Thank you doggie Gods for making Ellie stink extra bad today and my humans spray it all on her!!!!!!

I give up in the bath I go!!!!! I'm a very good girl I bet I will get more treats after my bath!!!! :) Yep Told you so!!! I got 3 treats!!!!

Oh yesI almost forgot my favorite part of my bath!!!!! That is where the warm towel comes in. Mommy drys me off with one towel and then , OH yes just like that she wrapping me in a warm towel and now she will hold me on the couch until I'm completely dry!!! NOW THIS IS THE LIFE!!!!
I just love when mommy wrap me in a warm ( just out of the dryer)clean towel and holds me like the baby she knows I am.
I fall alseep and dream about chasing Mecie the cat!!!!:)

I wish we could just skip the soap, water and perfume part and go straight to the wrap me in a towel and hold part. Yes there are some good things about a bath!!! Oh yeah mommy says my feet doesn't smell like frito's anymore!!!!!!
I think that is a good thing!:)

Hi boy do I have good news!!!

I'm so happy I made good freinds here on dogsters. I want to thanks my too little poodle friends. I must say they have become my favorite poodles! Bella bean and Abby. I really like them. They are very very nice poodles and I bet their whole family is too. Bella Bean did my pictures for me! I love them.
See I told Bella Bean I love Lucy and I love FL Football. So she took me to meet Lucy Ricardo and Bella took me to see a Miami Hurricane Football game. See their best reciever went down with a knee Injury. So being the great player that I am I ran out their and the Quarterback threw the ball to me and I scored the winning touchdown!!!!!!!! The crowd went wild yelling Bailey Bailey............. So we won the game thanks to me!!!
I'm number 1, I'm number 1, ok ok . I bet if I was in the game against the Seminoles I would have won that one too!!!! To bad I would join the team permanetly but Mom wouldnt know what to do without me.

anways !I went to the studio to meet Lucy Ricardo but she was doing this commerical for the Vitameavegmin ! She pick me to come up and try it out of the audience. Well I got one woof of that stuff and NO way Jose!!!!

Hello everyone!

Hi everyone thanks for my 3 rosettes! I'm sorry I haven't written much. I have been sleeping allot. Mommy is always on the computer and I get bored!
I wake up when Ellie is playing to much and I have to chase her to let her know who is boss. I also wake up to eat and potty, oh yeah to get my belly rub too. I love the Belly rub!!!!!! Ellie is bragging becuse she got more Rosettes than me or Mecie. I don't care. Mommy says what is important is the doggies and kittys all get back to their families. Mommy is spending so much time on Dogster trying to help I never spend time with her anymore. It is bad enough I have to compete with Ellie! Well mommy says she is doing a good thing for others so I guess I can't complain. Boy I'm getting tired I better go back to bed! Unless mommy wants to rubb my belly. Yep I think I work on getting my belly rub. Well gotta go!

Good Day!

Hi,
Not much to report today. Ellie and I are feeling better, stomach back to normal. Mom finally took off that gas mask. She said fresh air sure smells good. I wish mom had one to fit me, boy Ellie sure bomb the place .
I had to get on Ellie she was playing to much and taking to much of mommy time so I had to chase her all over the house. I have to remind her who is boss. Sometimes she thinks because she is a Pitbull mix she can do what she wants to but I let her know when I don't approve. Everyone here does what I tell them to do. Even my humans! Well that is it for now. Write later!

Hey what is that smell?

I think somthing is wrong with my sister and I. Everytime air comes out of mine or her butt sure is smelling up the whole house. For the past three days my sister and I seemed to have eaten something bad. Mom can't figure out what wrong. We keep pottying in the house. We usually are good dogs but for some reason we can't seem to wait. Poor Ellie she never has acidents and she has been having them all around the house. Mom says she feels like she is under attack by cemical weapons. I didn't know my butt was a chemical weapon. Ellie must be nuclear because when she drops her bombs she blows everyone away! Mommy says if we don't stop by monday she is taken us to the Doctor. Isn't that the man with the needles? I hope not.
