Leave a bone for Ollie (in memoriam)

Nicknames: Oll, Oller-Boller, Oll-Boy

Quick Bio:
Likes: sleeping; eating; lying in the sun in late spring

Pet-Peeves: he whines if another dog is taking up too much room on HIS couch, but doesn't mind sharing

Favorite Toy: due to hind end problems, he doesn't play much anymore, but when he did, he loved a soft Frisbee, tennis balls, and any large, floppy stuffed animal

Favorite Food: anything we are eating..even things like olives, tomatoes, salad, apples... almost anything

Favorite Walk: He doesn't walk very far these days, but thankfully due to medication, he can still get around on his own..just short walks around the yard

Arrival Story: Ollie is a retired racing Greyhound who came from Greyhound Friends in Hopkinton, MA. He was adopted out to someone up in Boston for a short while. That didn't work out because of his large size in a small apartment, so after finding a notice in the paper that he was available for adoption, and with the approval of Greyhound Friends, we were able to adopt him in 1994.

Bio: He was four years old when he was rescued, older than most Greyhound rescues. He apparently was a very good racer, and was kept racing longer than most.

Update:: In memoriam: On June 9, 2004, after a few weeks of increasing infirmity, and pain, Ollie had to be put down. He was a wonderful dog, who loved everyone, and everything. We were lucky to have ten great years with him. He will be missed terribly.
