Arrival Story: His previous owners called the doggie day care where my husband worked and wanted to get rid of him because he was so big. When we got to their apartment, we found he was kept in the bathroom where he pooped and drank out of the toilet as his only source of water. They didn't even know his name, and he didn't either so he became Sirius Black. The people told us we could take him for the weekend and if I didn't work out we could bring him back. Well, we knew that he would never go back there, and we would take care of him no matter what.
Bio: Sirius is the most lovey dog you will ever meet. He loves everyone and gets a hurt look on his face when he meets people that don't want to hug him. He is also allergic to various foods, weeds, trees, cockroaches, house dust, etc. When he was 10 months old he had a skin cancer lump removed, but the doctor says everything is fine. We thought maybe he would be daddy's dog, but he is a momma's boy and follows me everywhere. When we go to the paw park he likes seeing the other dogs, but will make the rounds to every single person and give them a hug.

Wow, it's been a year since I've written a diary entry. Well, I did it again. I won a prize in the Howl-o-ween costume contest. This year I am the funniest dog in Sarasota. Ma made me a chick magnet costume! Pa helped by drawing the crazy chick on my bib. I must have been funnier than usual because people sure were laughing at me! The best thing was that I got to meet a lot of people and get lots of lovin'.
Well doggie pals, I had a furbulous day last Saturday at the Howl-O-Ween costume contest sponsored by the Sarasota County Humane society. Ma sewed all week and pa glued a bunch of rhinestones on my costume to make me a swell Elvis costume. Then on Saturday I got to go by myself and leave Otto and Nellie at home to the costume parade. It's a good thing, too, because I was like a bull in a china shop; what did they expect, I had too many people to hug!
There were hundreds of pups and people there all dressed in their finest. We paraded twice around the judges. As I stepped out and the announcer said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Elvis has NOT left the building!" I sure did get a lot of cheers, and had to greet the ladies standing on the other side of the ring. When all was said and done, they called me out for the Most Handsome first prize! I was so happy I celebrated by laying down while the rest of the winners were announced! All and all it was a wonderful day. Now people are recognizing me as I go out and about which means I get more hugs!
