Today I am one year old! When I woke up I got to sleep in the sun and go outside but my people wouldn't let me go up the hill and bark at the neighbors! You'd think they didn't even want to know who was outside this morning! I tried pretty hard not to bark and eventually they gave me some kibble with salmon oil, and a bouncy red ball that flashes and makes crazy noises. It was a little scary at first but then I figured out I'm scarier than some silly bouncy ball. Now I shake it and growl at it, so there!

Even though its February it was almost 80 degrees here, and beautiful. My people and I went out to lunch at a cafe where they got to eat some sandwiches that smelled really good!! I got to eat some ice cubes and taste some hamburger and something called a "gardenburger." I'm no fool, I always know to beg more from daddy because he orders the good meaty stuff! Then we went downtown and I got to walk across the mission grounds and over a little bridge at the creek to Tails. The ladies there made a big fuss about my birthday and gave me treats and I got so excited! There was a nice pit bull and some other nice people and every body was extra nice to me.

Then we went to the dog park and I played fetch for ages and ages! It was so fun and I was extra happy to see all the nice dogs. There was one big puppy that was bugging me but after a while I realized he was pretty nice. Later on two little girls came and they talked nice to me and played with me and petted me! I finally got so tired I couldn't even play fetch with them anymore, so we all went home. It was okay, though, because it turns out my people got me a special doggy cupcake with pink frosting while we were at Tails! It was sooo yummy, I licked off all the frosting first. Now I'm kinda sleepy, maybe I will take a nap until I'm ready for more fetch . . .
