It was in a tricky spot so she has some complicated stitching on her belly near her underarm. We're still waiting to see if it was cancer or not but right now we are focused on her getting healed. ( she's acting like it doesn't bother her at all so that's a great sign)
4/14/08--We heard today that the oncologist thinks Dixie's tumors are "weird and wacky". They had nothing to do with her mammary glands. They think it might be a very low grade tumor(sarcoma?) or some kind of infection( what ever it is, it was to the edges of the big chunk they removed from her). We need to go see the oncologist sometime soon, I guess.
5/9/08--The oncologist recommended surgery to remove more of the tumor since there weren't wide margins on the biopsy. :( So on Tuesday I have to go have another surgery with a perhaps larger scar going in a differen direction. So X marks the spot and hopefully it will all be over after this.
5/17/08-- A few days after surgery and while I have buttons and staples on my side I found out from the oncologist that they got all of the sarcoma with clean margins! Yay!!! Now I just need to recover and get these buttons( yes, buttons) and staples thaken out so I can have a nice, healthy summer!!! Forums Motto: Shhh!
