Arrival Story:
I found Happy on Petfinder.com. I just fell in love with his picture and description. He seemed perfect for me. I contacted the rescue and drove 1 1/2 hrs to Ashville, NC to pick him up!

Bio:
The rescue didn't know much about Happy. He had been turned in to the rescue by some good people who had rescued him when they found him and 3 other dogs abandoned in a van. The nice people found homes for what they could and turned the others over to rescue. Happy was adopted out once before I got him. His first adopters tried to keep him as an outside dog (which he is definately NOT) and when he was scared during a storm, he tore up their screen door!! So, they returned him and now he's with me getting loved and spoiled everyday! I also found out that Happy had Heartworms shortly after I adopted him. I suspect that was the real reason he was returned by his 1st adopter. Anyway, he made it through treatment and has been in great health ever since!!

What an exciting few days it has been! We’re starting to move into our new house. So, there have been lots of people going in and out the door carrying things. Of course, it was up to me and Cassie to stay as close possible to everyone and make sure they don’t drop anything. We also helped mom by letting her know every time the door opened. I think we did a really good job. We worked so hard that we got to take a break in the bathroom and got dental bones to chew on!

Mom came home from work and got us harnessed up to go to the park! We were halfway there and it started to rain. *whine* So, we went to plan B...mom parked the car and we walked through town where the sidewalks are covered. We walked all the way down one side and back up the other. By then, it had stopped raining...and we saw DUCKS! Mom didn't let us chase them though, but we still had fun.

A Happy weekend

Whew! What a weekend! We got up early Saturday, got our new bandana’s on and headed out to Bark in the Park. Cassie had been good for a couple of days, so she got to go too. Turns out the listing on the parks & rec website was wrong. When we got to the park, there were no barks, no dogs at all!! No signs or anything. So, mom decided we go to the other side of town and check that park. Sure enough, there were the doggies!! However, by this point the event had been going on for over an hour, so we missed most of the contests. We still got to meet a lot of nice dogs and their families. We also found a new place to buy homemade treats! They’re really yummy too! To make it up to us for missing most of the event, mom decided to take us shopping. Woof! She got us several new chewies! We came home and rested for a while, then mom took us out again!! We got to go for another ride and for a walk!! We were so tired that we laid around all day on Sunday, just hangin out watching tv. It was a great weekend!
