Arrival Story: Earley was born in Longmont, Colorado and was brought to the Humane Society in Boulder as a pup - this is where we found each other. He was the burliest of his other two siblings who were there with him after being rescued from mistreatment by his mom's guardian. His papers said "Pit Bull/German Shepherd mix", and since I knew very little about Pitbulls (Staffordshires) and had only heard bad stories of these types of dogs, I wanted to know more since he was the sweetest & most adorable pooch I'd ever met and he was telling me to adopt him. So I called a Pit Bull rescue organization and many different vets in the area to find out everything I could about this type of pup, and every person I spoke with told me that 90-99 percent of a dogs' temperament comes from how it is raised, and that Staffordshires are incredibly intelligent, loyal, and loving above all else. I went ahead and adopted him and it was one of the best decisions i've ever made, hands down. Now I'm hooked on Staffy's & other "bully" dogs and want to help them all! Along with Pit & Shepherd, Earle is also part Boxer.

Bio: The Bird is an exceptional dog, through and through! He is very smart, so loyal, always happy, and such a huge love - along with being an excellent guard dog. Though suspicious of strangers, he warms up quickly to those who are worthy. Earle has had 3 surgeries over the years to remove fatty tumors on his arms, and he's got a hypothyroid condition, but these things do not slow him down one bit! Earle loves his little brother and taught him and many other "siblings" how to be as good a dog as he is himself. Of course Swearle did have many good teachers - his uncle Caesar (see pup pals), his aunties Annie & Leggo and of course his sister Cassidy.
Earle is a better dog than I ever thought possible and I am so grateful we found each other.
Earle went on to another life on October 4th, 2009, the day of the harvest moon. It was a peaceful passing after struggling with lung cancer for a few months. We miss him so much - he will forever be in our hearts.
