Leave a bone for Holly (in loving memory)

Holls, Pollywog, Boodle, Holly-girl, The Girl, Wild Dog

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:

March 10th 1996

Taking walks, barking at other dogs

Other dogs walking by when she is in the house, hearing thunder and fireworks

Favorite Toy:
Any toy with a squeaker - but they don't last long! I include a picture of Holly ripping into one of her "babies," as we rather morbidly call them. I don't think she'd make a very good mother!

Favorite Food:
Pupperoni, people food when she can get it.

Favorite Walk:
To Starbucks! No coffee, of course, but maybe a little piece of coffeecake!

Best Tricks:
Q: What's the difference between a rock and an airedale? A: A rock won't move when you say "stay."

Arrival Story:
Holly was our third airedale. Sadly, she, like her older brothers, Captain and Brigadier, is no longer with us. She lived a long happy life and lived to be fourteen.

So I turned 12 about a month ago. I have posted a couple new pictures so everyone can see how pretty I still am. I am in pretty good health too, although I can't go on as long a walk as I would like any more.

I have also posted a new picture with me and that puppy Louie. He is 2 1/2 now, but still pretty crazy. He looks deceptively calm in the picture though.

I'm a birthday girl today!

Hi doggies,

It's my birthday today, so even though I haven't written in a long time, I'm inspired to write a message! I got a squeaky toy that looks like a squirrel, except that it has funny spots on it. My mistress says it's a special toy, because the squeaker is hidden inside a separate pouch in the squirrel, and it comes with extra squeakers for when I destroy the first one. That won't stop me though - I'll take care of all those squeakers!

Anyway, things have been pretty good with me. . . except my mistress's parents got a new puppy. He is awfully mean to me when I go to visit, always jumping around me and snapping at my face. The family says he is just playing, but his play is a bit rough for a 10-year old like me. They put him in his crate when he gets too out of control, luckily. . . but I wish he was in his crate all the time!

Cooler weather finally here?

But the problem is, seems like there might be thunderstorms coming too. I hate thunderstorms.

Anyway, another long-delayed entry here. Anyway, FYI, I am still a wild dog, although the other day, my family took me for a bath, and I wasn't in a very wild mood at the bath place! Normally, I only get a bath when I have a haircut, by family said I was stinky! That made me feel a bit bad, especially because I thought I was smelling really good! Lots of interesting smells all over. But no, a bath could not be avoided. I was pretty good at the bath place, until they got out the hair dryer. It was scary - even for a wild dog like me! I tried to walk right off the table a couple of times. But they wouldn't let me get away.

I was still a little wet at the end. But it was still hot, so my family decided I could just dry naturally, and I escaped further torture from the evil dryer. Another victory for the wild dog!
