It is hot!

Here is the deal... our house is airconditioned.. but us Newfs till gets awful hot... so Mom's got fans all over to help. Well Yelda's real smart, and always gets in front of the one closest to Mom's desk. I try and sometimes manage too, but if I don't, I have found that the bathroom is really cool.. and there's an a/c vent that blows out .. but.. I'd rather be with Mom. She tries her best to make the other's take turns. I just heard her tell Ben something about making us beef flavored snow cones . I can't wait. Bring it ON!

That Wabbit.... and the cake

... is driving me nuts. I know it's there. Evertime I go outside I look for it. I can't concentrate on taking care of business cause I'm too busy looking for the wabbit. I just know it's there hiding.....

And to make matters worse, they baked a cake... and wonderful gooey, yummy cake. I love sweets, you know. And I also am "stealth" when it comes to counter surfing. I'm also quite proficient with my nose... and I managed to pop the cover off hte pan and have a nibble... quite a few nibbles actually!!!! Tee-HEE! And they knew I did it, but I didn't get in trouble since they didn't catch me. SWEET!

Local Team Trains For A Triathlon

Ok.... I've figured it out (really my Mom did, but she's letting me take the credit). Several members of our neighborhood are training for what has got to be some sort of triathlon. I'm certain that it's not the standard triathlon because instead of swimming, bicycling, and running being the three events, these individuals seem to be training for jumping, climbing and running. And bless their hearts, they are training hard. My Mom isn't thrilled about this because their training schedule conflicts with our schedule, and their training routines create total havoc with our routines. You see... these individuals are squirrels. They run marathons through our yards, climb trees and jump from branch to branch... and they never quit. The seem to enjoy having an audience... because the really start this training process when my Mom is taking us for our walks. And as you can imagine, we are fascinated! So much so, that we want to join in the fun. My Mom feels that she needs to figure out a solution to this problem. I have to ask, why is it a problem. C'MON MOM! Let us join in the fun!!!!

My Mom thinks that it would be easiest if the Official Country Lane Squirrel Triathlon Team would cooperate and find another yard in which to train. Somehow, I just don't think that's going to happen.

So, it appears, that we're going to be working on our own training regimen... which will include the "Leave It" command..... among other things. Pawsitive reinforcement is called for, and I'm certain that my Newfy team members will respond well to that. Treats are good, and my Mom always gives us yummy6 treats! My Mom feels that we need to get a grip on this before the walnut trees start dropping their treasures on to our yard. I'm not sure why she feels that way. Walnuts are cool... it's like having a yard full of tennis balls. What's wrong with that???

Happy Birfday to ME!

Today is my Birfday! I'm now 6 years old.... and my Mom says I'm finally calming down! HA! That's what she thinks!!!! I hope I get lots and lots of goodies... toys too!!!! I've been a very good girl.

{Edited to add note from "Mom"} Kira is going to have a magnificent birthday!!!! She's a wonderful girl, and I'm so glad we adopted her. I can't imagine life without her.

I have a Secret Santa!

My Secret Santa was a newf called Eloise. She is from New Jersey. I just LOVE LOVE all the stuff she gave me! I didn't know what to play with first. But then I saw the bully stick, and well, HOW DID SHE KNOW that I just LOVE LOVE LOVE those! So, my Mom put me in my crate so I could enjoy it. Eloise was so great for thinking of that!

Summer time

Well, it is just plain boring here. It's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hot outside, and I just hurry in and out when I need to "go". SIGH. Major major bummer... and we've not been to the dog park at ALL!!!! HINT-HINT. Maybe when it's cooler out. Yikes!!!!

I just "know" there's something down there!

Did you see that picture of me digging??? Well, I just KNOW that there's something down there. I can't walk by that spot with out sticking my nose down the whole and trying to smell and figure out what it is!!! My Mom says I sound like a horse! I'll figure out what it is.... I know I will!!!

The Newf who's an Earth Dog wanna-be!

I'm getting in the holiday spirit!

Well! Just last week (on December 5th), I did my part to get into the Christmas spirit. My Mom & Dad took me and Sailor to a Christmas Tree farm north of Indianapolis, Indiana where me and a bunch of other newfs (and 2 Great Pyrs) pulled Christmas Trees for people after they had chosen them and chopped them down!!!

It was hard work, but I had fun!!! I worked hard all day, and never really got tired. Everyone, including my Dad, was amazed by my stamina!!! He had made me a brand new sled to pull... it was kinda heavy, and it would have been nice to have Cora help me. But she was home babysitting for Ben, so I did it all by myself.

I've got a new buddy!

We have a new foster brother. His name is Ben and he is COOL! He likes to run and chase... and we have such fun. It's good to have a playmate again. I can't wait to go to the dog park and show him around. He'll love it!

The big bone

The coolest thing has happened! There's a new toy in the house.... it's a huge fleece bone. It's almost as big as my whole head, and it's so much fun to toss around and ram people with!!! I love my toys..... and I love to toss them high into the air.

Sometimes, Mommy will play with me, and that's the best. Specially when she runs around the house with me. She can be such a kid at times... I love that! And Cora... good old Cora! She's starting to play with me too! That is SO COOL! And Sailor... he loves the cooler weather...

The three of us (Cora, me and Sailor) were hopping around the living room the other day! Mom and Dad just laughed.. and said it was good to see us so happy! I love making people smile. Sometimes it's easier than others... and some times, I even have to sing. That always makes people smile... and sometimes laugh. I can't understand why though... Mom and Dad call it yodeling... whatever that means!
