Pet-Peeves: Marley hates it when other dogs sniff her butt.

Favorite Toy: A tennis ball of course! She loves the frisbee as well!!

Favorite Food: Anything I can get! They say I hae FOODAR - It's like Food Radar. I can always tell when there is food around.

Favorite Walk: Anywhere off leash......Water to swim in is always preferred.

Best Tricks: Weaving in and out of my mom's legs! I can also spin and twirl and do several other tricks.

Arrival Story: My Mom decided to get my big brother Dylan a special birthday gift. He was a sad fearful puppy and rumor had it that a companion dog would help him. My mom was looking at adoption fairs for another dog and the day before Dylan's Birthday she found me.
I was in a large crate with several puppies that were playing and roughhousing. I looked like a sad old dog and all the puppies were going crazy around me. My Mom new I was unhappy there and wanted nothing more than to save me from all the craziness. She sat down on the floor next to my pen until someone could let me out. When someone finally came, she found out that I was actually only 4 months old and that one of those rambunctious puppies was actually my littermate. She sat and held me since she could not coax me into playing with my new big brother Dylan. Despite my lack of desire to greet Dylan; my mother knew that I was the one.
After completing my adoption paperwork, she took me over to meet my new Grandma and Grandpa. I didn't want to walk anywhere so she ended up carrying me. She thought it was just exhaustion from the craziness of the adoption fair.
As the day went on, she realized that I may not be feeling well. The evening came and she couldn't get me to eat or drink. Mom started to get worried and I actually started to have difficulty breathing. I started to have a runny nose that was thick, gooey, and bloody. It was really scary but my Mom already loved me so she took me to the ER. We found out that I had pneumonia and it was likely a result of a kennel cough infection that had not been treated. Fortunately, the vet at the Pet ER was able to take care of me and I got better quickly.

Bio: Due to my Pneumonia experience at such a young age, I quite had the energy level of a regular puppy. People frequently mistake me for an old dog but I actually just celebrated my first birthday!! I gained some excess weight prior to my first birthday. At 10 months, the vet said I was 10 lbs overweight. These days, I have shed the excess lbs and I actually move like the border collie I am!
I have now lost 15 lbs and I am quite the active skinny minny. I have been diagnosed with Dysplasia in my right hip and compressed discs in my back (due to a narrowing of the space between the vertebrae). I've also got a bit of arthritis developing in my spine. Due to that it is even more imporatant I keep fit. I run daily and swim every chance I get!
I am a good girl in return for the excellent treatment my Mom gives me. I instantly loved her because she cared for me when I was so ill. I follow her everywhere and never leave her side. All I desire in this life is love and attention from my Mom (oh and food food food too!).
My big brother Dylan and Iis a bit pushy but I know how to put him in his place when he's gone too far!
I am trained to play flyball but because of the problems I have iwth my back and hips I just play at a really light level. I've tried to run in a few tournaments but I am too scared of all the noises indoors. My mom is very careful about not letting me overdo it. I just play for fun and I'm not like most flyball dogs!! I don't get all crazy like my brother Dylan.
I'm a certified therapy dog and have been working consistently for almost 6 months now. I love my new job and I get really excited when My mom gets me ready to go on a visit. I know I will get lots of love and bring lots of happiness to the people that live at the place we go. I let them pet me and cuddle with me as long as they want and they say we make a great Pet Partner team.

I have been training in flyball for quite a while. My mom started to notice me walking funny at times and was worried about problems with my hips. She took me into the vet because she didn't want flyball to make me worse!.
The Vet confirmed I have dysplasia in my left hip. I am still so young and I have to suffer. I can't play flyball anymore either! The vet said its too risky - it can make my hip feel a lot worse a lot earlier in life.
The good thing is - I am now in excellent shape. I am a skinny girl weighing in at 36.6 lbs. The vet says this is really good to keep my hip as healthy as possible. I have to keep running and running to keep me fit so I can live out a long healthy life despite my handicap. The dysplasia problem is mild at this point and hopefully will stay that way for many years to come.
I am sad about flyball but I think my Mom is even more sad. Luckily my big brother still plays so we all get to go. I would rather be doing other things so I guess it works out okay. I am going to start working on some stuff so I can retake my delta society exam and get certified to do therapy work.

Things are great at the new house. We have a huge new yard to play our chase games in! Even better, my best friend Delta is always around to play with me. I love having him here because Dylan doesn't seem to want to wrestle with me like he used to. Mom says its cuz he is growing up! I think theres no fun in being an adult if you can't play once in a while.
Did I mention I am a skinny girl now? 39.5 lbs and dropping! I bet I have lost more since I got weighed 3 weeks ago.
I am training in Flyball again. I am doing really well with my swimmers turn! I finally figured out how to hold the ball and my mom is just hoping I keep it up.
It's about bedtime. Dylan is all tired and my mom says we need to go to sleep! Guess there will be more play time tomorrow.

My mom has been gone a lot lately and I am missing her a lot. She said she is looking for a new place for us to live. She finally found one and she promised it will be a lot better for me than where we are now. I am really not quite sure what that means but she said my best friend Delta will be living with us too.
There are all these boxes in my house and I can't quite figure it out. I am stressed out and confused. I keep trying to scurry through the neighborhood if I get let out off leash. My mom has started leashing me to take me out to the backyard to potty. Once we get into the yard she takes it off but I hate that Dylan teases me all the way there.
I also tried to potty in the house the other day. I didn't even do that when I was a baby but right now things just aren't right. Hopefully they will go back to normal soon.
I dropped out of Flyball for a while because my Mom said I would like being a therapy animal better. She has been working with me on my sit stays and other obedience commands and even been teaching me a few tricks. One day I will play flyball again but for right now, obedience is my game. Mom promises it will pay off in the end because I will get to do the things I love the best! I will get to receive lots of loves from all kinds of people!
BTW, I am not a fatty girl anymore. My mom keeps calling me the skinny girl instead. I went into the vet last week and I am able to go off the weight loss diet. 40.4 lbs is perfect for a dog like me!
