She smiles on command, that's her only "trick". She knows about 30 commands that she uses as a puppy in training!
Arrival Story:
McKenna came home with me on May 26, 2005. She was my 3rd puppy in training for Canine Companions for Independence. It was found in July of 2007 that McKenna's ears were not healthy enough for her to become a service dog, so after 10 months of Advanced Training she came back home to me as a very well trained pet. We hope to start some kind of therapy soon.
Bio:
McKenna is 3/4 Golden Retirever and 1/4 Lab. Her mom is CCI's Happy a Golden Retriever and the sister to, Hiltie, my second puppy to raise for CCI. McKenna's dad is CCI's Terrell a 50/50 Yellow Lab/Golden cross. The "M" puppies were born on April 4, 2005 in Santa Rosa, CA. McKenna has 9 brothers and sister who are also being trained as service dogs for CCI.
McKenna was the 2nd puppy born in her litter, her siblings are: Mak, Molly, Marge, Maria, Misty, Mikala, Mano, Monty and Marlo.
McKenna is a wonderful puppy, she is very happy and very calm! She loves to sleep, but she also likes to play when she is aloud to. McKenna's coat is beautiful, she has golden hair with blonde streaks. McKenna is a great puppy!!

Hi everyone,
Sorry it's been so long! I've been a busy girl. My mom is almost finished with school for the summer, which means I'm almost finished too! Yay! Don't get me wrong, I love going to college, but it will be fun having the summer off again.
Tonight there was a CCI class at our house, it was fun. I did really well and mom was proud of me. We worked off leash, it was easy! I think I'm going to do really well when I go to CCI college in November.
Another great thing about the summer is basketball games!! I can't wait until they start again on May 20th!! That's the day the Sacramento Monarchs get their rings for being Champions...I remember being there when they won, it was awesome...everyone was sooo happy!
Well, I'm one tired puppy, so good night!
