Arrival Story:
On our second wedding anniversary, my husband and I had a picnic, then went to the local pound...just to look. After checking out a few dogs, none were our "perfect match." On the way out, we passed a group of cages we hadn't seen earlier. In one cage was a young pup, about 3-4 months old. I asked if it was part Chow; she was. The staff brought her into a room where we could interact and we fell in love. My husband, being more practical than I, wanted to leave and think about it. We made it to the parking lot, where I kept saying we should get her without "thinking about it." Thankfully, my husband gave in, and we brought Bear home!
Bio:
Bear was my very first dog and I took her care and responsibility very seriously. After about 6 months, I began researching what "purebred" and "AKC" actually meant. We began our search for a Samoyed, and eventually Sasha became a baby brother for our beloved Bear.
Sadly, Bear died on September 2, 2005 at 1:06 pm, after a 1.5 day illness. Mom was with Bear for those last hours and when she died. Bear was cremated and her spirit now lives with us.
