   Leave a bone for George

Lummox, Georgie, The Pony

Quick Bio:
-purebred-pound dog-dog rescue

August 8th 2004

Food, baths, digging up the yard.

Being told "no".

Favorite Toy:
Purple Rabbit

Favorite Food:
George is fed raw. Therefore his daily food is raw meat and bones. His favorite *snacks* are wheat thins.

Favorite Walk:
The really, really, long ones.

Best Tricks:
Eating the dining room table? He's 8 months old, and while he's got a good grip on basic obedience (heel, sit, down, stay, come) he doesn't always want to listen. He's a Pyr, and he's a teenager

Arrival Story:
I have wanted a Pyr literally since I was all of 11 years old. 16 years after discovering the breed, and after several years of literally looking for a rescue pup, George came along on New Year's. He was 15 weeks old, and brought into animal control with his sister. He's an amazing, amazing, dog, and we're lucky to have him in our lives; even when he's chewing our table or landscaping our yard for us.

Pyrs are beautiful , wondeful, dogs. They're also not for everyone. The reality is that inspite of their beauty and gentle nature, they are not for everyone. These are seriously big dogs, that require a serious owner, and a lot of space, money, and time. Please research this, or any other, breed you may be thinking of accquiring.
